I ordered 2 fuschia hanging baskets on 5 July and after 2 phone calls was advised it was on its way. I received them on 22 July. It was full of dead flowers on the soil, and so many seed pods that I spent half an hour deadheading them. Their marketing is fantastic but the end product and waiting time will stop me buying again and I have a large garden to fill. Their loss.

The despatch durations on each product mean absolutely nothing…I ordered loads of plants on a 24hr despatch as I had a project to complete, 10 days later I’m still waiting. They’ve missed items off orders despatched and so far have refunded one on ‘good faith’ I’ve another plant missed so we’ll see how they respond to that. The quality of the later plants have not been great…had the first few been this poor I wouldn’t have ordered more but I was ordering lots in a short space of time.

Purchased plants with the same name of a family member who has recently passed as a gift for family members. The original dispatch time was 72 hours, after 5 days or so of hearing nothing I contacted them to be told the plants would be sent out that week. After 14 days had passed, I got back in touch to enquire as to their whereabouts and to ask to change the delivery address as I would be away. They then got back to say the plants were being picked now so they couldn’t refund or change the delivery address. Plants arrived while we were away and the courier was told to drop them off in a safe spot via ring doorbell. A family member popped in that evening to check on them. 1 of the plants was broken and the others are pretty sad looking for plants that cost £53.99 each (would not usually spend so much if it wasn’t for sentimental reasons). We’ve returned and found out the plants are not even those that we ordered, they’ve been substituted for another variety. They’ve currently said we will have to pay to return the plants. Chose to shop here due to the big name and thinking they were a reputable company but will avoid like the plague in future.

I recently ordered a “Climbing Iceberg” rose plant from Thompson & Morgan. What was delivered was a shrub rose labelled “Schneewittchen”. When I queried this with the Customer Care Team, Katerina replied claiming that this was the same thing, “just with its Latin name.” It is obviously not Latin. I checked and found that “Schneewittchen” is the German name for “Iceberg”. However, what I had been sent was a shrub rose, labelled as growing to a height of 120 cm, rather than the climbing rose, with a height of 3 metres, that I had ordered. “Iceberg” comes in both climbing and shrub forms. I replied to Katerina enclosing a photo of the label and a link to what I ordered on their website, pointing out that “Iceberg” and “Climbing Iceberg” are two different varieties, and what they had sent was not what I ordered. I asked them to send me what I ordered or refund my money. I received no reply after five days, so I wrote again. I then got a reply from Thomas claiming that what they sent is what I ordered, even though I had pointed out quite clearly that it is not, and telling me that if I want a refund I will have to return it at my own expense. It is bad enough that a long-established horticultural firm like Thompson & Morgan apparently don’t know the difference between a climbing rose and a shrub rose, especially a well-known variety such as “Iceberg” which holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit, but when this is pointed out to them, to treat the customer like an idiot and basically lie to me is totally unacceptable, appalling and abysmal customer service.

0 stars!!! greedy company sending dead and dying plants in damaged packaging with bent pots. asked for refund and they send another dead plant. Happened twice. asked again for refund and they've informed me they'll send a replacement again. I don't want more dead plants. I just want my money back. Do not use this company!

I paid for sweet corn 'pot of gold', x15 garden ready plants - more like, 'garden ready for the compost heap. Thompson and Morgan in the past was a company that sold quality plants. My plant s arrived decapitated as they had been carefully bounced in the delivery box. Hard to say if it was a poor packaging design, or the delivery handling. Good money for old rope. What a rubbish company to deal with.

Avoid responding to offer from this company. I bought some tomato plantts using the MSE code. In good faith I also added two other products to my basket. Sadly, these two products were in very poor condition on arrival. The company offered a refund, but then applied the original discount for the tomato plants across all products, thus only refunding me just over 50% of the two extra products. This resulted in me paying over £20 for the tomato plants. I am beginning to wonder if this is standard practice. The original offer is to entice you to the website, postage is high, so it makes sense to buy extra. They then send you substandard plants and refuse you a full refund. A shocking scam.

Absolutely terrible. Ordered 14 3l rosemary plants. They had simply stacked them straight on top of each other in the box, and because they are quite heavy at 3l the top plants have absolutely flattened and broken all the lower plants. Very poor condition, bone dry, much of the soil had spilled out of the pots. For an order which took over 10 days despite being confirmed on the order as next day dispatch, they have failed on quality, packaging and delivery time. Would not from T and M again, and would not recommend (unless you like broken dead plants!)

Bought four plants - Apollo hibiscus, and three tomato plants. Hibiscus died within a week of being planted in a patio container from powdery mildew, the tomato plants were nearly dead when they arrived and I've had no response to my email to customer care asking for a refund or replacement of the tomato plants. Not happy, won't use again.

I would avoid this company . Ordered early March , heard nothing , now almost end of January had a confusing email, but still no plants . VERY disappointed with this company, be warned they take your money but do not deliver within the given time frame, and then send a bland email with no specific date and whether the plants will ever turn up. Now have a refund, but I was dependent on these plants . I will never ever use this company again. There was no apology when I wrote to them either

I ordered two hanging baskets, and was advised after some time that they would be delayed further. I then received one which was not in bloom, and contacted them to say that only one had arrived, and is the other on the way. The reply was that it is not arriving as they did not have stock any more. Had I have been advised before they sent out the incomplete order then I would have cancelled. Also the one received is now blooming, and is not anything like either of the ones which were ordered. I wonder who runs this company as the whole experience is an absolute waste of time, and money

Bought a Dwarf fern tree on amazon from Thompson & Morgan back in June & it stated item would be sent by end of July , a long wait but okay I ordered it , now today I get an email saying sorry it won't be dispatched until 2nd September - I'm not joking ! They shouldn't take your money if they haven't got the plants in stock . They are clearly not running the business properly judging by reviews on here & trustpilot etc .

We ordered 2 identical plants and received an email acknowledgement that confirmed Despatch: Within 24 Hours. After nine days I contacted them on a Thursday to be told that they would be delivered on Monday or Tuesday. They did not arrive so I emailed them to be told "At this stage, your order is currently on the picking list. We are currently advising to allow 10-14 working days for dispatch." This was 14 days after ordering! I replied and advised them that if the plants had not been delivered by 21 June (3 weeks after order) then the order should be cancelled as we would be on holiday. This was ignored as they were despatched on 20 June and delivered on 28 June. We were still away.

I too have had a bad experience with this company. Jumbo plant plugs of Petunia and Fuschia’s half dead. Tomato plants weak and droopy, took a while to get them back into growing condition. Lavenders ordered back in March and am still waiting for 3 of them. Very eager to take money but mot so when asking for a refund. Will NEVER use this company again
