“Visited again Clacton and we were very pleased to see our favourite server Tina, who makes us feel at home from the start. She is very helpful and showed us how better to use the app. We learnt that we can collect reward stamps each visit, to get extra goodies. Thank you, these are much appreciated bonuses with money being tight now”
“went for tea with my wife had a the carvery was so nice enjoyed it , saff were v helpful good night night will be back soon, thank you so much big shout out to george on the bar ,”
“I ordered a breakfast and coffee from Kings Norton Toby Carvery. I only received half a cup of cold coffee. This cost me £15. Attempted to contact them via telephone and email and just got answer machine with no supply. This is not the first time. Very unhappy with service at Kings Norton and would recommend that you use one of the many other Carvery's in Birmingham.”
“I visit every Tuesday evening with my 5 year old boy after his karate club as a treat. We order at the bar, before siting in the front area to the side of the bar as you don’t need to book.
Today, we sat in our usual spot but the place was very busy. Half way through our meal, the most rude and unpleasant man (Jack) approached the table and in a loud voice for the benefit of the whole restaurant, said that we had not booked and were siting in the wrong place.
The table was quite some way apart from the restaurant, the other side of the enterance area, and next to the bar. That area was not clear at all to be a part of the restaurant opposite. We had been told to order at the bar and it in that area.
Instead of politely telling us we had sat in a satellite area of the restaurant to eat our carvery and being offering help to move. He approached in an aggressive manner and told us, we were not allowed to sit there and had 15 minutes to finish our food and leave. No explanation, no offer to help us relocate. When I politely explained that we always sat there and did not know it was part of the restaurant, and were half way through our meals, he became even more aggressive and told us, we had 15 minutes or he would be calling the police to have both myself and my 5 year old child “ forcibly removed from the restaurant”
My son was very scared and did not want the rest of his dinner, so we left.
Imagine threatening a small child that he would be forcibly removed if he took more than 15 minutes to eat his dinner…. We were so shocked.
Advertised as family friendly but I believe Jack should be nowhere near small children.”
“nose to the trough type of food. Bland, tasteless and full of sugar. You pays your money - you take your choice. Cheap, nasty food for the overeaters”
“The worst delivery meal Ive ever had
Just had the worst delivery of a carvery meal from Toby carvery Romford the brewery. Ordered for my husbands birthday two roast meals with 4 meats and the extras, plus sides of cheesy mushrooms and mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was missing only one yorkshire pudding, the cauliflower cheese consisted of one stalk of cauliflower the beef on one of the dinners was just a lump of fat and gristle cut off the end of a joint. no Gammon on one of the meals the roast potatoes were cold, hard and waxy, the gravy was thick and lumpy.. the whole meal tasted stale ..we probably got the leftovers that had been out on show all day.. worst meal ever. Yes I have let Just eat know and checking their reviews Im not the only one. Paid almost £50 for this rubbish .. never again !”
“Took up the offer of 50,% off main meals and booked a table for 3 people. We were seated quickly on arrival tucked away in the corner which we were OK with, but we waited 10 minutes for our drinks order to be taken and another 12 minutes for them to arrive and then we were one short!.
The place was very busy, but that was to be expected with such a good offer available, however it seems they hadn't increased the staffing levels to cope with the extra customers, so having only one waitress to serve around 15 tables (possibly more) it was inevitable that service would be slow.
On the positive side the carvery was delicious & plentiful as were the desserts. We also encountered a problem with our discount code which wouldn't scan so I was rather worried that we would be charged full price, but after several unsuccessful attempts by the staff, the Manager sorted it out manually and we received the discount.
We have eaten at this Toby several times in Birmingham and would recommend it. However I would suggest that more waiting staff are utilised when a popular promotion is being offered.
Also we were in disbelief when a turkey carcass was discarded from the carvery counter that had enough meat left on it for several more meals? Very wasteful? Or perhaps they are utilised in some way. We would love to know.”
“Starters was poor prawns were frozeen and taste less the Brussels were the size of a marbles taste less the desert which I had was a cheese board with only two types of cheese no butter very disappointed”
“Went for breakfast st 9.30. Rude woman behind the bar as we paid.
Bacon dry and like leather, the same with the sausages. No.potato dish left and was bluntly told there wasn't any more coming out! Eggs shrivelled. The moby dick carvery is excellent but Romford awful”
