Snacks were good, some came melted. Shipping was the only problem, it took about 2 weeks to ship but it says it takes 2-3 business days to ship. So that was false, on top of that it took an extra week and a half for my package to get here. Why charge me $12.50 per package if it’s not going to be shipped at the time it says?

I did like the different flavors of Kit Kat and the sodas. We got a twelve month subscription that we paid for up front. After about our third box we started getting a lot of repeat snacks from previous months. Delivery was in consistent; some times early some times late. They promise a certain number of snacks per box but some of them were very small (I.e. a single marshmallow). The final straw was our subscription being automatically renewed before I realized. When I contacted customer service, they told me my money couldn’t be refunded but graciously offered to cancel my subscription for next November.

Box is nice, but I feel like I got ripped off on a promo and absolutely no one will respond. It’s very aggravating because I wanted the promo as much as the subscription. I can’t get anyone to respond to my messages either.

it was okay, but not super value for money. Although it was fun to try something different, a lot of the snacks were the same.

Not really what I was expecting. I made a subscription for 3 months and in 2 out of 3 boxes, even if the package was different, I found 3 treats that were the same. Moreover, at the end of the 3 months( or 6, or 1 year...), the subscription automatically reactivates and you get charged all at once again. It is explained in the terms of service, but you should cancel the subscription right after activating it, if you don't want to risk to forget and receive more boxes. And, when you cancel the subscription it's not possible to play streaks anymore. I don't think this kind of service is worth the money spent. By the way, traditional japanese treats are a lot better.

The price changed(at least in the US), shipping is now an extra 10 dollars. So for 45$ what you will find is a terrible ratio. The largest items besides the KitKats are all savory snacks. Fun to taste a little and go “yuck” but it’s about a 60/40 ratio of savory to sweet items if not more. Not worth the money, as you will always be throwing away half of the box’s contents. Would not recommend. *Pic below is of everything I’m throwing out this month*

Not a good value for the price. You could spend way less by visiting an Asian market and picking things out yourself. $40 is way too much for what you get.

It was good at first, but then boxes didn't come for months, they automatically updated me for another year before I knew when to stop it. They misled me on some bonus items, took off my permanent discount for 12 streaks. And added another year because they refuse to refund after I accidentally bought what I thought was a 2nd year. I opened a dispute with PayPal and got that extra year refunded and extra shipping for DHL that they just take out without warning. PayPal has blocked them from doing that again. I imagine PayPal is used to disputes, now. And be careful when you see tons of generic 5 star reviews. It's part of contests to get bonus items. TT likes to also delete bad reviews. Very carefully read their TOS. You literally give them permission to do whatever they want in regards to taking your money without warning.

*TL;DR: Decent product but not as good as competitors, and more importantly, dishonest business practices and severely lacking customer care.* Fairly large array of items (at least with the premium box), but mostly just sweets; Lacks the variety of competing services like Bokksu. If you're really into candy that might be fine, though it does get a bit repetitive. The monthly theme and little bits of Japanese culture are kinda cute. The biggest con is that it feels a bit like... well, a con. They really go out of their way to obscure the auto-renewal of the subscription and keep it in fine print, give no option to opt out of it, and provide no reminders until the next payment has been processed. Also, of course, no refunds once the payment has been made, even if the payment is for multiple months and none of them have actually shipped yet. When opening a ticket with their support system, one of the main answers that automatically pops up is exactly about this, stating only that they don't give refunds. So, you can tell this is an issue that happens to a lot of customers, who end up paying hundreds of dollars unintentionally. Not surprising, since the company clearly made design choices to encourage these kinds of accidents. On top of that, they offer rewards for giving them reviews, hoping to drown out the complaints they get for their poor customer service with even _more_ shady manipulation. In my book, honest business practices are more important than any specific product (especially considering the quality of the product isn't exceptional either, and arguably worse than their competitors), which is the main cause for the low score.

Love the variation and idea of Japanese snacks. It’s been near a month since I purchased a premium Tokyo treat box and I still haven’t received it, my order was billed July 28th
