Useless! Booked my holiday with extra leg room and one bag. None of it has been registered now I need to find £170 two days before my holiday. Very misleading website I won’t use them again and I wouldn’t advise anyone else to either.

I have a booking to go to Dubai and I booked in January. I asked could I change the hotel and take someone off the booking which would mean one room instead of 2. I checked in there website how much the whole holiday would be for a new booking and it was coming up as £1000 cheaper even though the flights have now gone up since we bought ours. Travel republic are saying we would need to pay an extra £1200 to change which makes no sense as it’s actually a cheaper holiday! They are just absolute robbers and getting away with it. I’d never book with them again!!

I was fortunate... my complaint was over something very minor - a transfer - but it still takes a month!!!! And if you chase them they point to their rules that say it will be a month... praise the Lord it wasn't something major... certainly wont use them again.

Terrible service. Booked a hotel and received a booking confirmation email. A few days later I get a text saying that a different hotel was booked by mistake. I was then offered a hotel in mainland Spain as an alternative (The hotel I booked was in Ibiza). I was told I could be refunded or take the hotel in mainland Spain. Those were my only two options and legally that's all they had to offer. So I had to book a more expensive place last minute in Ibiza. Avoid this company. They do not operate under the same rules as a regular travel agent and they do not offer compensation despite the entire issue being their mistake. Read your terms and conditions before booking, they are ridiculous.

I made a booking with travel republic only to be told weeks later the price was being hiked up by over £1000 because a child would be 13 not 12 at the time of travel. Despite repeated requests they would not give any explanation as to what the increase was for or any breakdown. You cannot easily communicate with them, by phone its very costly. They don't just email you, you need to log into their online system to read and reply to messages, which would not work on my iphone while away. It's not live chat so can take them days to reply, 5 days the indicate- which to me is unacceptable when you are missing the chance to obtain a booking elsewhere. I ended up cancelling the whole booking and booking again with another company for the same hotel with the same age 13 children and for the original lower price. Still no idea what they were playing at!

I booked through Travel Republic then found the exact same deal £150 cheaper on another site. Travel Republic offer a price guarantee so I emailed them to claim. The response stated that since the website was only ATOL protected and not ABTA protected they would not honour the price. ABTA is only for rail, cruise and self drive holiday which does not apply in my case. It doesn't make it clear in their terms and conditions that they have to have both.

Diabolical.We have a holiday booked for December and were told almost a month ago that we needed to change hotel due to contractual issues ,despite regular calls and messages it still is not sorted ,they clearly don't care once they have your money ,AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE !!

Absolutely terrible service ! I contacted them to move my holiday day following an unexpected family bereavement. The customer service representative showed a total lack of empathy and compassion in her emails. I compared the price I had paid to the new date and there was very little difference, only a few pounds. I expected to pay an amendment fee but was shocked when a further £570 was requested to simply change the date. When I asked for a breakdown of the extra costs The CS person only known as Jessica closed down my request which meant I was unable to accept or refuse it !! The death of a close family member is a very stressful and upsetting time . This person Jessica added untold stress and upset to the situation. We are now faced with going on a holiday of a lifetime which was meant to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary before the date of the funeral. This is now not going to be an enjoyable holiday . Simply moving it at a reasonable cost would have meant so much to us. I will never use this company again and would certainly not recommend it to anyone .

We booked a holiday to Dublin during the St. Patrick's Day celebrations. We flew with Flybe from Southampton to Dublin, and the return flight with British Airways to Heathrow. We paid for one suitcase each (hold luggage). On arrival at Southampton airport, we were told that only one suitcase had been paid for, and that we would have to pay £40 for the second suitcase. On the return flight, BA said that we had not paid for any hold luggage so would have to pay 150 Euros. Thanks Travel Republic.

I don't know how you can take my money tell me thank you for booking. When I get to the hotel they don't even have my booking confirmation. Topez malta didn't even show me any kind of help. Used all my phone credit to try ring you to sort it out. Then had to buy a card from the reception desk to call you again. And am told you can't book me even after taking my money from my bank account. Its the last time me and my family and friends will use traval Republic again. I always told everyone to use your site. Never again will I say this to anyone never its not good. After my bad experience with your company. Justinwest@mail.com

I booked a hotel for June. Then needed to cancel. Phoned and told had to cancel on line and pay £40. There is a tab on their site, saying cancel, this takes you to another page, customer service. You then have to select a topic from a drop down, none for cancel, so selcted need to change booking. I gave a detailed explainstion. Response took a week. Told to select xancel booking. The complaint was then closed. Started again, was told they tried to call, but could not confirm what number they had called. Again closed conversation. Third time, told to go into pay balance and change amount to the cancellation fee. This worked, however, it was the third time of asking and no explaination as to the purpose of the cancel booking tab and no apology. Again the issue was closed so I could mot respond, hence complaining here in the hope others will read my experience. Just wish I had found this page before booking with them. And they deducted a further charge from the payment, which had never been mentioned. Avoid!

We had booked transport in Tenerife return from airport. Worst experience ever! We were collected at 6.20AM and what would be a 40-50min drive to the airport turned into a 2.5 hour drive around various places to collect people, total disregard and lack of organization. Never ever book with them again, holidays or transports

By far the worse holiday company I have ever dealt with, I used this company and I paid them but when I went to an infested and disgusting hotel they did nothing to help me, they told me all other hotels were booked up and they could not move or assist me, I became violently ill eating the food on one night that we couldn’t eat there anymore, we would wake up to find cockroaches walking around our room and for my children’s sake we went to another hotel at our own expense, we lost the money we had paid and only benefited from the flights. After arguing for a year with them they have informed me that they are abta registered but the provider they used and the hotel we went to our not. We have lost thousands of pounds and they have not assisted or reimbursed us a penny! Shocking that this company could do this and get away with it, I would never use them again and strongly recommend that you avoid these con artists and go with a reputable company

You will pay 50% more for your bookings!! Avoid Booking EUF/17508990. I was charged £150 more for the hotel and almost £90 more for my car rental all booked through travelrepublic. Hertz rates for a 4x4 was £11 a day for 4 days and I was charged £132 excluding insurance (£60). Hotel rates for my room was £50 a day for 4 days and Travelrepublic charged me £336 for 4 days. Please Book you holiday directly with the airline and car hire company to avoid paying extreme amounts for no reason. No not even to my worst enemy.

I booked a hotel at least three weeks in advance and even paid in full to fully secure the booking. I had picked the Mercure hotel as I was hoping to use the spa the next day. We arrived at the hotel around 1800 ahead of the 2100 concert we were going to attend. Our excitement was quickly cut short when the hostess informed me our booking did not exist at all and furthermore that they were fully booked understandably it was Christmas party season and Def leppard's home gig in Sheffield. Hotels around were now either fully booked or going for high prices. The stress was escalated by the customer service assistant from travel republic was suggesting it was unlikely we would get out money back !! The Mercure hotel staff were kind enough to call around and find us a hotel but it was in the neighbouring town . It costs us so muchore for a room on the day and even more on taxis as the Venue was now even further from the hotel for the night. I got a refund eventually and what felt like a terrible apology passing blame. I was to receive a call or email with a complain form now several months later nothing . I am warning all my friends and reviewing travel republic . Do not book with them unless you like disappointments . Terrible service . Never again.
