I fell victim to a crypto scam, but contacting harrylucy*977 @*gmail.*com made the refund process quick and easy.

Atrocious customer service, palmed off and no accountability - They are the worst travel company for customer service, avoid at all costs

I've used Travelrepublic many times and found them great, however since last April, I've not been able to get to the actual booking stage. I find the hotel I want and when I get to 'checking out' , the room has apparently gone, when I remove cookies, look again, the rooms are all there. While I appreciate it is a 'live' site, that's clearly not what's happening here. All the rooms that show as available magically dissappear when you click on them, and magically reappear when you search again. There's obviously something wrong back end... or, some of the low prices are simply 'click bait' , personally it puts me off searching on there at all.

Booked for the Maldives. I had a problem with transfers. I received a confirmation that did not show them. Phone service is useless as are the staff. Awaiting modified confirmation.

AVOID - unless you want to be disappointed I booked a family suite hotel through TR around about January. As you will know, most of us book in advance to get the best deals and in this case, I paid approx. £1700 (for 6 nights) for a hotel back in January. My hotel was booked for August and a hotel voucher was issued around 2 weeks prior to the hotel stay. All was well until 1 week before flying where TR had informed me that, their third party supplier had gone bust, and as a result my hotel booking is no longer available. They offered me a refund or book another hotel through their portal (but I have to pay the difference). Everyone knows that last minute bookings are hard to find, especially for kids - unless you are willing to pay the inflated prices. I did ask TR to compensate through no fault of my own and give me a similar hotel which I booked. The hotels I proposed weren't extravagant, they were similar hotels which was around £600 more than what I paid - purely because of the price hike. I don't think I was being unreasonable. TR refused. Instead, they offered me another hotel with rubbish reviews for the same price I paid in January. I shopped around and even in August this hotel was charging £1,500 - and TR had the audacity to tell me that this hotel is costing them £1,700 - they asked to provide evidence and so I did - they then came back and said they couldn't match the offer (so why ask me for it - perhaps they thought I was lying?). In the end, I had no choice and opted for my refund and booked another hotel by topping up the £1,700. TR claim they are a big company but they are not - they're just con artists who try and exploit the average tourist and get away with it. I will be writing to ABTA and others when I get a chance because I have had enough of these bullies doing what they like without any consequences. They should be held to account - as they are not the ones losing money - I had to pay over £800 (£2500) for another hotel at the same time which I could have got for less money, had I booked in January...

I haven't travelled yet and I wish I had paid more to a decent operator. No one picks up the phone. I tried three times and hung up after 25 min. No one answers online queries. 5 days in and my question has still not been answered. The first one was answered quickly but now, nothing) I'm worried about my trip and I have spent a lot of money.

If I could give zero stars I would. When something seems too good to be true then believe it. We booked a £6.5k holiday via Travel Republic as it was £1k less than Tui for the same holiday apparently! Requested to remove someone from our booking 1 month in advance and took them until 4 days before we departed to confirm this but still didn't let the airlines or hotel known so I had to contact and amend this all myself. Arrived at 9:30pm on our travel day to find that the private transfer we'd paid for and booked hadn't in fact been booked and after spending 45 minutes at the airport trying to get in touch with someone to help us ended up having to just pay for a taxi transfer as our two kids were exhausted. Eventually arrived at the resort to find the 2 "family villas" we had booked were in fact just 2 x two bed apartments. So the £6.5k we paid Travel Republic was in actual fact extremely expensive compared to what TUI would have been for the apartments. Absolute shambles of a company who outsource each part of your holiday to smaller travel operators who are in no way contactable, for example the company who Travel Republic outsourced our accommodation booking to transpired to be in Dubai and had no contact details available to the public. Would never go near Travel Republic again, we were totally ripped off financially and left very disappointed and stressed by the whole experience. Avoid at all costs!

Don’t bother, there are many more decent holiday companies out there to book your holidays with. I made a couple of complaints to a hotel I stayed in, the hotel denied I made the complaints and Travel Republic sided with hotel. Did not take me seriously and couldn’t care what the issues were. Never again, stay well clear.

This company is absolutely shocking! We booked a superior room in Madeira at the Santa Cruz Hotel and when we arrived the hotel announced that the hotel was full and gave us a room that beared no resemblance to the superior rooms the hotel was advertising! It was tiny! You tell me if these photos match the photos the hotel advertises for superior rooms!

We booked a hotel at the beginning of January which we paid in full for. When we arrived at our Hotel on 8 February they had no record of our booking. when we called travel republic which wasn't easy by the way as it was a Sunday they advised that there had been a technical issue and the hotel had to been booked. They confirmed that they had only tried to book the hotel the night before which I found unacceptable given I had paid my money at the beginning of January. I booked the hotel via travel republic who I assume act as a third party as the company who confirmed my booking was YALAGO. Long story short travel republic apologised and said I could have a refund but we had no hotel and they said they they could not help us as they cannot book same day rooms. This was Khalil in resort which was unacceptable. Being in our late 60's and not tec savvy in the USA in a hotel who had no rooms available had to travel by taxi to find a hotel to stay in after a 9.5 hour flight. I will not be booking with travel republic again....whilst I understand there can be mistakes sometimes, the fact that they were unable to help was a disgrace.

After waiting 1 year for our much-needed holiday, we were left completely disappointed! We checked in after a long flight approx. 9pm and when we were taken to our room, we were greeted with the most awful smell, which I can only explain as the smell of sick. It was so bad; it would make us gag and we couldn’t even sleep, we literally could not escape this smell. We spoke to the reception the next morning before breakfast and they tried to insinuate we was the smell? Finally, they said they can change our room but will not be until this afternoon. We went back after lunch to speak with reception, and we were left waiting to speak to someone for a long while, and then was eventually told we could move rooms but not until 8pm!!! As you could imagine, this ruined the first day and now first night of our holiday as we could not relax during the day, as we was not sure on what the situation was going to be, and then now we was unable to enjoy dinner or even unpack. Once we finally got to the 2nd room, we were now greeted with the smell of smoke and stale tobacco??? These are non-smoking rooms and my partner and I are not smokers, or never have been! So this smell is extremely unpleasant to us. We had to turn off the aircon to prevent the smell becoming worse, but this still did not help. We went back to speak to the receptionist again the following and was told management will contact me. In the meantime, I reached out to travel republic (our holiday rep) and advised them of the issue. We were left days without any contact, and the hotel management contacted us on day 7 of our 9-day trip!!! (The hotel reception said they have been trying to contact us, which was not the case as we had no missed calls, or neither did they visit our room to speak to us in person. On the morning of day 7, we were told they needed to move us “now”, otherwise they cannot move us – we had to cancel our plans to meet our friends to make this 3rd move happen. As you could imagine, packing and un-packing for the 3rd time to move at the end of your holiday is a complete waste of time! I have travelled around the world and stayed in many of hotels in every country you can imagine (from hostels in Australia, to 5 stars in Dubai) and I can confirm this hotel is not a 5-star luxury hotel. The two foul-smelling rooms which we were given for money we paid for this trip was nothing other than upsetting and disappointing. The rooms are dated, dark and not clean, and quite simply should be rated as a 3 star. Not even to mention the food half board package, It is not your typical Dubai half board. Buffet food is very bland and repetitive, and no buffet for lunch time. EVERYTHING is an additional extra – other hotels I have visited in Dubai, nothing is an issue but this hotel they will charge you extra for absolutely everything. Dubai is expensive I know, but this hotel is extremely expensive as you would need to look to pay approx. £7/8 for a can of coke, £8 for an ice cream and an iced coffee is approx. £9.50. Sofitel should be very thankful for their porter staff as they truly are a credit to this hotel, they are the only good memories and experience we have taken from this trip was meeting the porter staff. I reached out to the hotel and my travel agent (travel republic) directly to share my concerns, I advised they I would not return to the hotel as I was left upset, and disappointed. They asked me to re-book and to pay again to come and stay with them again, and as a gesture as goodwill they would upgrade my room – and they call this compensation?! At what point is me spending money to come and stay with you again, compensation? They are NOT interested in the slightest. Now they have my money, and my trip is over they do not care about rectifying any wrong doings. Dubai is a beautiful place, so if you are looking for a 5-star luxury holiday and experience, do not book through Travel Republic and choose another hotel.

Have tried to book a flight and hotel. Money has been taken from account straight away. Then in 2 days time agent from travel republic contacted us that our booking cannot be confirmed as room not available. Although on official hotel website there is a room. They advised that we can pay £600 more or as our room was refundable to refund. Interesting, if we had no refunded, would they just keep our money. 1st time booked with this company and very very dissipated. Will never recommend this company. As of not our fault professionals should just accept amount we paid and re-locate at their own cost. As not our fault that they are inferring something on their website where they don't have availability.

Absolutely diabolical service - I arrived at the hotel to find the accommodation was not paid for and the hotel chain has had such a bad experience with the accommodation supplier (who I believe is owned by the same group as TR) that they asked me to pay for the accommodation again. This is despite yourselves having taken the money from myself 1 month earlier. Fortunately i was able to cover the hotel bill with my credit card but not everybody may be able to do that. It was a 4 day stay and Travel Republic finally paid on the 4th day

My sister has just booked a trip for herself and two siblings the flights are with aer lingus the confirmation came through 2 hours later and the flight time is not correct, I called them and they said I have to contact aer lingus, which I did I had to hold for 28 mins then a further 15 mins, only to be told it's travel republic who I need to call, which I had already and they said aer lingus would help. They didn't I booked afternoon return flights and now travel republic say it's 105 pound to change the flight which I didn't book the flight that they are saying and it's only three hours after the initial booking! Surely this could be sorted no charge I didn't make the mistake they did, we are coming together after just losing our beloved mother suddenly and my father within a week of each other, my sister is also recovering from cancer how cruel are they !!! We live far away from each other and wanted to spend time together in our parents birth place ! This needs sorting

Beware: ALL flights are non-refundable, even when you book a refundable holiday [this is not clearly advertised anywhere]. I would not like anyone else to be tricked and to know before making a booking. I've noticed compliants of other people warning about misadvertising, with Travel Republic advertising refundable holidays and then not refunding flights. This is misleading and false advertising.
