“I love planting memorial trees instead of providing flowers that are temporary. After my son’s death in 2021 I was gifted a ‘tree’ and this has been my go to since.”

“Trees for a change is a wonderful company. When my beautiful dog Seraphina died, my son and his family gave a donation in her honor to have a tree planted. What a wonderful way to honor the life of my girl and also to give back to our beautiful earth. Thank you.”

“I always loved the idea of memorial trees instead of flowers, but I’ve always wondered where the money went and whether the trees actually got planted somewhere. When my younger brother died last year, the funeral home offered a tree service for him, but I wanted to make *sure* that his trees were planted. I found Trees for a Change online, and I was so happy to read that the trees would be planted in areas of need. Even better, I would be able to find the location of his trees and get growth progress pictures! I was picturing a wonderful family road trip to visit his trees in the future. I guess I wasn’t thinking clearly enough about the logistics of it all, but I was dismayed to read on the Find A Tree page that the actual location of the trees could not be provided, nor would pictures of the actual trees be provided. I am happy that my brother’s trees are out there, but I’m sad that I won’t be able to find them. Please make these disclaimers about the trees more prominent on your website so that other bereaved people like me don’t make the same mistake.”

Hello Maresa- I am so sorry about your brother and I am truly sorry that you are disappointed with our Find Trees feature. Please understand we plant thousands of trees at once in order to restore large areas of forest. So, it would be impossible to pin point the location of each individual tree and provide those locations to family. You are certainly able to visit the planting location of your brother's trees. We have had many families experience meaningful and healing trips. If it is important to you to have a particular memorial tree for your brother, you might want to check out this organization: https://www.betterplaceforests.com/ They are the only ones I know of that can provide you the specific location of a single memorial tree. “I looked around online and by far Trees for change is the best option. The price is right and you can see where your tree is located so you could go visit. I like the idea of planting a tree in memory of someone.”
