“The trinity gift shop is extremely frustrating. I went to see the book of kells and didn’t have enough time to look at everything written in the exhibit so I thought I would just get a book from the gift shop. All they had was a book on trinity college, which I bought, with only a few short pages on the book of kells. So I went on line and found the book of kells guidebook for €19. Keep in mind I was in Dublin but I had to order this book online and pay €23 to ship it home to Canada. You would think they would have the guidebook on their most famous exhibit in the actual store. It cost me over 70 Canadian dollars to get the book. The book is fine but the experience was frustrating. Staff were friendly and nice.”
“I ordered quite a heavy hardback book on line from Trinity Gift Shop, delivery was quick and the website was easy to navigate, the book its self is great but due to poor wrapping for postage, it arrived damaged. The book was simply wrapped in tissue paper and a plastic bag, this provided no protection at all, so unsurprisingly, all the corners of the book are bashed in. Bubble wrap or a box would have prevent this unnecessary damage.”
“The main item in my order was the Jonathan Swift Avoca scarf, but that is not what I received. Instead, I was sent an Avoca Book of Kells scarf. It was the same price and appears to be a fine item, but this order was based entirely on my admiration for Swift. Rather than attempt an international return from the U.S., I decided to keep the Kells scarf and use it as a gift, but it makes me reluctant to place any future orders.”
