“Lovely way to relax and decompress for a couple of hours. Good massages. Great, historical steam area and plunge pool. There are a few little signs of wear and tear, the women's changing rooms now smell of damp and it's a shame we're no longer offered hot drinks in the sitting area as used to happen, but it's still a good experience overall.”
Thank you, we’re so glad you enjoyed the massages, the steam area and the plunge pools. Keeping a Victorian building fresh is something we’re always working on, and we’ve noted your comments on the changing rooms and hot drinks. If there’s anything else you’d like to share, please email info@turkishbaths1877.com.
Hi Shazia, we’re sorry the steam room wasn’t producing enough steam on your visit, as it’s such a big part of the experience. We’ve flagged it with the team and would love you to come back and enjoy it properly, so please get in touch at info@turkishbaths1877.com.
“Really nice environment and great facilities. The decor has a kind of timeless, opulent feel to it. Staff are lovely and very helpful too, I will be going back.”
“I am always impressed by the service I receive when I visit 1877 . I don’t go on a regular basis but the staff still remember my name and always make me feel very welcome. The spa is the perfect size so that it feels that you can have some quiet time but is also perfect for visits with groups of friends. There is a very calm , relaxed atmosphere and everyone is very respectful. I only attend the women only sessions and greatly appreciate that these are provided. The only reason I haven’t awarded 5 stars is because of the lack of any decent imaginative vegan options in the cafe. If these were available I would probably eat there too.”
“The 1877 Baths are so unique and a wonderful space to be in that I have made it a monthly treat!. It is always inviting, clean and spacious, so even when busy there is plenty of rooms to relax in. I enjoy the range of ladies only sessions and treatments available. My favourite treatment is the Hammam Scrub, although I will try the Mud Wrap next time for that extra treat! Parking is readily available, I recommend the Fitzwilliam Street car park for spaces. It is just a short walk from there to the Spa.”
“Amazing service from all the staff here. The therapist did an amazing job and it’s ashame I can’t remember her name! The massage left my body feeling amazing.”
“This is a lovely place to go on your own to rest and recuperate. The mix of hot and cold is wonderful and the relaxation room is beautiful. I had a scrub which was totally amazing experience to end.”
“This was such a luxurious experience for me! I had 2 hours in the baths and then a head massage. I really loved going in and out of the different steam rooms, saunas etc and then sitting in the quiet lounge. The staff were wonderful and made the experience very peaceful and enjoyable. I am already looking forward to my next visit.”
“Lovey facilities and nice relaxation room. I did not use the cafe or have a treatment but would do next time. I went as a solo day out to relax, there are plenty of signs to asks visitors to be quiet, some choose to acknowledge these, others do not. That is not the Spas fault, but it makes it a little difficult to relax when people are talking at full volume in larger groups and so perhaps hushed tones and whispers should be encouraged a little more from staff so solo people can go and relax and groups can still have a nice catch up with friends :) x”
