Moved into a 2 bedroom flat, set up UW as the provider and got put on a budget tariff. Was told a the start to make sure i submitted meter readings via the app to keep track of my usage which i did. Had a smart meter installed after 6 months so i didn't need to submit any more meter readings. Received an email with my "end of year review" and my DD was to go up by £120 over and above what i was already paying. Called today and support agent wasnt very helpful, told me that the smart meter wasnt sending the electricity readings so i have to submit a meter reading by calling in again. The whole point of submitting readings is to keep track of usage and amend your payments if you are to using more energy, so you dont rack up arrears. VERY POOR ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT!!!

Sound great to start with, worse customer service ever, December they do a meter reading and low and behold they take £750 out your account for 1 month Rubbish, underhand and liars avoid

If I could give no stars , I would. I have been trying for 6 years to get a refund for £600 which they have over charged me. Wait until the end of the year- we will refund. No they did not. I am still trying, they put me on loud speaker in the office, I could hear laughing, indication what they how to answer my questions and brick walled every time I asked for my refund. I was on the phone for two hours again, still they will not be refund me. They said go to the ombudsman. I have my bills, I have proof, I don’t need an ombudsman. Utility Warehouse must be made to be accountable !

Absolutely shocking service. We left six months ago and every month a new bill arrives. When I call them they tell me this is the final bill and it’s sorted and it’s cancelled. Spoke to somebody today who told me it’s not cancelled just on hold. Currently I’ve been on hold for an hour and a half. I think they’re just sat there laughing rolling in all my money. Going to complain to ombudsman because this is shocking.

online service. only messages about smart meter and home insurance. Nothing to say about gas tariff....... Find out l was paying well over the odds. Their promise to get cheaper energy... Only get that if you have phone and broadband. Seemed to be paying much more than other providers. Very difficult to part company as all services are intertwined. They say no cancel fee but they take money back for 'free' light bulbs. Will never do all inclusive services again.

Do not use this company. We have been waiting 4 months to get an issue sorted on our bill and are still waiting!!! Trying to charge us over the odds for Gas due to their smart meter equipment failing!

Awful internet provider, useless staff, bad customer service, rip-off prices, don't ever go with them, I also changed providers, they got told by my new provider a while before changing over and we kept telling them we was gonna change because they was so bad and they still charged us to leave as they said we didn't give them any notice, when we did. Very bad company, they need to work on better prices, better customer service and just generally not ripping people off

I've been with uw for almost a year. It seems like a great idea to have most bills coming in from 1 place. But my experience has not been good. It's costing me more per month than with separate companies and still haven't got my smart meter because there's never any appointments in my area. I've tried to sort it many times but it's a waste of time.

I would not recommend this company, they are a joke, they do not care about customers and their needs, I was over charged month in month out, and they do not care, DO NOT sign a contract with this company, if i could of given a 0* i would of, but the lowest is 1* joke of a company

Terrible service, rude, never sort anything out, couldn't blocked out of my account to submit a metre reading, and then started sending a revenue protection service round, rather than metre reading reminder or a metre reader! Outstandingly awful

If I could give this company negative stars I would. Since the beginning of the year we have had nothing but hassles and confusing bills. I sent numerous emails and got no response. Our bill in January was £84.01, in Feb we were told our bill would rise from £34 (for electricity) to £118 just for the electricity -a total of £168!!! This is impossible as we are exceptionally careful with our consumption and do not live in a large house. In March our bill again totalled £168 and we decided to change provider after failed attempts to contact U.W. We received a bill yesterday for £663.63!!! This was with no warning and no explanation. Needless to say we felt sick to our stomachs and completely horrified at the prospect of this. When we eventually got hold of Utility Warehouse, the customer service assistant was unsympathetic and simply stated this is what we would have to pay. We were told we could pay any amount today and then pay off the bill over the next six months. These problems all started when we got our smart meter ( after being harassed to do so) and no one has come to check that it is actually functioning correctly. The cashback/ discounts they offer are absolutely useless and in no way compensate for the excessive bills and poor customer service. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone and just wish that I had changed providers sooner. I cannot believe that a large company can actually function in this way and have nothing but regrets and empty pockets to show for our 2 years of loyalty to them.

Excellent company. I save money every single month with them. The 'partner' who introduced us was so lovely and helpful. I would recommend this company, the staff/partners and services to everyone and anyone.

I’ve been with this company for over two years and from the start things didn’t go as planned, fist they had trouble switching my broadband from sky so they signed me up with a new phone number and as a result I was tied in to a 24 month contract as supposed to a 12 month that I had signed and they didn’t even bother telling me this. At the time I switched to this company as a double gold customer I was supposed to recive free LED lights, an appointment was maid for the footing but than subsequently cancelled by UW due to them having problems with connecting my. broadband. After over two years when they delivered the LED light bulbs I was told I have entered yet again in to 24 month contract, this is something they failed to tell me prior to delivering the LEDs. Their customer service is rude and unhelpful. They con customers by promising services they can not deliver. I had trouble with my broadband from day one and their respons was for me to pay for a better router which I did. This did not solve the problem and I was stuck for 2 years with a broadband that didn’t work. I have now switched back to sky and even though I have paid for my router with UW they want it back or I’ll incur chargers, yet again they made me believe that by paying for the router I will not have to send it back to them when I leave, guess that was a lie. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Avoid like a plague!!!!!!

One of the few advantages of being old is that you have a good idea what to expect but my experience with Utility Warehouse plumbed a new depth of hopelessness. I tried and failed to change to them for phone and broadband. As briefly as I can; visits by five engineers, four without warning, resulted in a filthy carpet but no connection. One of them cut off our Virgin line which UT refused to reconnect. They didn't reply to emails but sent four in November telling me than the connection would be made in October! Two letters to the chief exec and a threat to complain to Ofcom resulted in two letters of apology and the return of the money I paid to repair the damaged line. My advice is to avoid at all costs.

Wish I had never switched to this company ,they got me to change provider offering to pay up to £200 for early termination fee which I did ,now I have left UW within my contract but had new tenants to take over contract ,now they are asking for the £200 back ,I’ve complained of course and they offered to reduce it to £150 and I’m having to pay this back and now having to set up a payment plan to pay this back what a nightmare this is, please think twice about switching to this company it’s ended up costing me a lot more to switch to UW and nothing’s been right since and it’s caused me a lot of stress and grieve ,I would not recommend this company to anyone.

utility warehouse cash card is awful, 50% of the time the card is decLined, even though sufficient funds, if you persevere with the vendor and are prepared for the embarrassment of them trying your card 3 or 4 tmes, if might work..it's not vendor related.. So embarrassing I refuse to use it now, and phone IT for help...good luck...
