“Very good sound with raspberry pi and hifiberry amp2. The radio is a disappointment. Many local stations don't work and the same is true of of many of the other stations. I was counting on my local radio stations. Software is a bit clunky. But if your interest is getting good sound from your ripped CDs, this is the way to go. And for a free software program, this is much appreciated and very good.”

“Very happy with sound quality through JustBoom DAC + R-Pi3. Volumio web player works fine on legacy iPad and old Android phone. I would have appreciated a decent help guide to connect my Linux PC as a music server. This took many hours on Google and much trial and error.”

“The sound quality of the Volumio Primo is excellent. The Volumio software is disappointing. For instance the stability of the Android App / Webbased Volumio software, it regularly 'freezes' and I have to restart the app or the Volumio Primo device. Also when playing a title (from Spotify) and I would like to open the album (or artist etc.) info, nothing happens after the progress bar is finished(?)...”

“I currently have it set up on a raspberry pi3 and hifiberry digi pro connected with coax to my naim nd5xs and everything works! The interface is very good . Would love to have web info about album for free. I've tried other solutions not so good. I would recommend this software to anyone out there looking to have a music solution like this as it's free and working lovley. Thaks Volumio team.”

“I love Volumio, I currently have it set up on a raspberry pi and connected with a phat to my hifi and everything .... well, everything just works! The interface is excellent and informative and very responsive (remember it is running on low end pi!) and this is all over wifi only I've tried other solutions to listen to my vast music library and web radio but Volumio wins hands down! I would very highly recommend this software to anyone out there looking to have a music solution like this as it is cheap and .... well, perfect!”

“Perfect program, i use volumio with raspberry zero w. using pins 13 and 18 for the left and right channels and 2 resistors and 2 capacitors and Add this code to: /boot/config.txt: dtoverlay=pwm-2chan,pin=18,func=2,pin2=13,func2=4 . Sound quality is good for me playing on backgroud via receiver av channel. listening webradio and nas (mp3). Super program!!!”

“Generally a pretty good bit of software, but room for improvement in the interface. a) Navigating a big album/artist collection is tedious. An A-Z jump menu would make it so much easier. b) An option to filter out common prefixes such as "the" when sorting. So "The Beatles" would be sorted under "B", not under "T". Other applications have provided both of these for years, yet volumio is still missing them. I would give one extra star in the review for each of the above.”

“I tried it in order to be able to play Tidal on a raspberry bi and I found I have to pay another subscription for that. It's ridiculous. And expensive. Not recommend at all.”

“The product itself is intuitive, easy to use and easy to install. It has generally great features and sound quality. However, a few very important caveats: 1. The support for DSD playback on USB DACs is somewhat spotty and tied directly to the Linux kernel. Some method and/or documentation for adding DAC information would be VERY helpful. Many newer DACs simply won't play DSD files without translation to PCM (and I don't mean DoP). 2. Occasionally the software seems to get confused and is unable to locate the music library. Rebooting often resolves these problems. 3. The Android app is somewhat unstable. Often can't find the device and when you switch apps, it seems to lose communication with the Volumio device at which point I have to close the app and re-open it.”
