“I used Volumio for many years but was disappointed with the last versions and paid options. Eventually switched to PicorePlayer with LMS running on my NAS. Sorry to leave. However, I wish you success. I will continue to follow your work.”

“I used Volumio with a raspberry and it was never stable. I was not able to browse, sudden shutdown. I contacted the Volumio service and after many back and forth they were not able to fix the problem. So I changed with an Eversolo streamer and I am very happy with it, so thank you Volumio, thanks to you I have met Eversolo. This is time for you to react.”

“The player constantly crashes when connected with any connection to my Holo Spring 3, which works flawlessly with everything else. Regardless, the retailer, in concert with the local distributer, is trying to force me to complete the purchase. We're going before the Tribunal to resolve that. The manufacturer ghosted me after two emails. Be wary.”

“Barely stable, needed to be restarted 2 or 3 times to just work. Nothing worked as expected. The remote function was unusable. It was slow, messy, too complicated and not even beautiful.”

“Starting a test resulted almost in a disaster for my speakers. Output 100%!!! My audio “chain” is: audioplayer like volumio directly connected with fiber to an active dali system. The volume is controlled bij a browser interface to the player. You assume that the volumio player is always connected to a preamp or amp with volume controls. Bad idea and therefore i found an exellent solution - with some more benefits - with Moode.”

“I’ve been using Volumio lately on a Raspberry Pi 4. I remember the first version I ever tried on my old Raspberry Pi 3; it was flawless, responsive, and quick. Now, it’s a slow, buggy mess. The Bluetooth connection often suffers from micro-disconnections, the web GUI sometimes takes an awfully long time to load, and my Raspberry Pi overheats and hangs even with a decent-sized heatsink. I think Volumio has just enshittified itself over the years. It was a good project, though.”

“Hi, I use Volume apps with iOS on a Mac + iPad + iPhone and I have to admit that I'm having a lot of trouble because it's not very intuitive and cumbersome. The steps are not very intuitive. I think an app should be created that works with the icon principle.”

“I was using happily until the usage mode transfered to paying mode. when free version does not anymore fulfil my needs I went further. unfortunally I was happy using Volumio but with payment options its not for me anymore. greediness os never a good thing.”

“At first, impossible to follow the Quick Guide instructions. Seems wrong or outdated. Nothing appears to connect, just hearing a few clicks from the box. Tried using iPhone, PC to no avail. How could I get this to work with my PC? There are no specific instructions about what to do with the download? What is the use of that thing in the Free mode? Disappointing for the non-geek.”

“Purchased a refurbished Volumio Primo in Jul 22. Initially worked fine - saw my DAC, read my music etc. Moved the unit to a new location, new DAC and Music source. No output. Doesn’t see the USB drive, doesn’t see the DAC and when I shift to RCA and streaming it doesn’t output. Did a factory reset and updated the software - to no avail. Frustrated.”

“In April this year I tried to contact "Volumio" with regard to their erratic commercial processes and the low performance quality of Volumio 3. I finally received a response on 4 July. My response sent 30 September is below: Monica Many thanks for your delayed response. I must admit that I rarely find organisations as unresponsive as those of Volumio, its partners and owners. I did not receive any response whatsoever. I eventually renewed my subscription for another year at the lowest price I could find on the web, emails etc. At that time, I could not find a suitable alternative. Today I am using Volumio to stream Spotify and every playlist jumps from track to track for at lease half a dozen times before playing a track...... Here it goes again........ I have no problems streaming directly from Spotify. The loading of Qobuz seems to be a random process, sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. I see you are launching a new product which has at its heart Volumio 3, are you sure it is ready? I will definitely look very, very hard to find an alternative when I am asked next year, by the most unfriendly organisation in the world, to renew my subscription. If you are considering Volumio I suggest, like me, you try to find an alternative. Oops, my tracks are jumping again,,,,,,,”
