Here is a copy of the email I sent to Volumio.org on 24 March 2022 and resent several additional times. I did not receive any reply. My account was terminated today. What do I think about Volumio? Garbage. Reference Account Renewal I am writing to obtain clarification for the renewal of my account. I am seriously considering termination as a consequence of the following; 1. Extremely poor software stability particularly in Version 2 and subsequently instability in Version 3. 2. I have yet to find any way of contacting anybody to discuss and rectify performance issues. The available forums are hopeless. Either I am the only customer with issues or I am the only customer. 3. Could you please explain the services levels available, their costs per year in pounds sterling. I cannot understand the various stuff strewn around on websites and My Volumio. For example: I took out a subscription on 9 Mar 21, with a 15 day free trial. I confirmed acceptance on 24 Mar and was charged £25.30 for one year at Virtuoso level. I then upgraded to Superstar level on 9 May 21 at a pro rata cost of £29.86 I received notification by email that payment of £59.47 for Superstar yearly renewal was unsuccessful through my PayPal account on 24 March 21. Before I renew please advise what is the correct renewal rate for this service: On the app and web based sections of My Volumio (my account) there is no "Superstar" but an offer of "upgrade" to Premium at £51.99 per year. On the open section of the Volumio website two service levels are offered, Volumio Free and Volumio Premium, at 59.88Euro If "Superstar" has gone, what are the services that I get if I renew at "Superstar" level? Does Superstar still exist? If not, why does my renewal notice still relate to this service? Why was I asked to renew at the higher cost of £59.47 for a service level that no longer exists? Or more precisely, why did "Volumio" or their agents try to remove the amount of £59.47 from my PayPal account rather than the published amount of £51.99 for the existing Premium service? I am not happy with both the system and the supporting administration. Especially without any simple means of contacting "Volumio" I look forward to your response. No response.........

The software is very buggy and unfriendly. One must start a new search to change the search criteria. I found piCorePlay much more intuitive and bug-free. Sorry!

I have an extensive library, and all Volumio does is what everyone else does (aka Plex), a song player. I don't want a song player, I want software that makes my extensive library into a music station that will play genre's and kind music when I ask for it.

Not satisfacted with Volumio OSanymore. My tidal Intergration is gone since three weeks and tech Support doesnt help me . I pay via virtuoso subscription. I think i will switch to roon. The Volumios is very buggy and the tech support slow or not existing.

everything is fine but the problem of nat external port is error, i think need to update these problem

The trouble with version 3 is that Volumio would like you to pay for features which are free in version 2. I think that's not a good approach. Therefore I stick with version 2.

Hello sorry to say but I was really motivated to use volumio on my Raspberry and was OK to pay. But now we have to pay a monthly fee for using volumio in addition to qobuzz monthly fee. I pay for a service, ok but not to use my own device. And the player is just a rebrand of free player. So I m sorry I've some difficulties to pay so many every month and even with he subscription i I don't have music. Looking for other alternatives now and have my Raspberry recycled to something else.best regards laurent

Extremely bad experience! Buyer beware. Ordered Volumio Primo Streamer/DAC on 1/04/21 for $849.00.USD Received unit. No ON/Off switch, No power Led light. Plugged it in, waited 5 minutes for the auto set up “hot spot” nothing happened; tried numerous times, still nothing happened. The unit would NOT connect (wireless or Ethernet cable) to Modem/Router that works perfectly with all other home equipment. Contacted Technical Support (TS), they connected (remotely) to my computer, took control, connected to the Primo. It worked briefly but Volumio did not have my Kobuz account and I could not add it (although Volumio advertises it supports Kobuz). Unit stopped working. Numerous emails to (TS) and attempts did not fix the issue. TS suggested another remote session (that I would have to pay for) in addition to the $849.00 I had already spent on a non-working unit; I declined. After many more attempts of trying to get the unit working, I found out that the software the Primo came with was OUTDATED (2020 version) current version is 3+. Suspect it was the reason the unit would not automatically set up and support Kobuz. TS did not mention the obsolete software, nor did they install the current version; I had to and did install the current version. It worked briefly but now Volumio (wireless or by Ethernet cable) is not recognized by the Modem/Router and is not working. As of today 2/07/22, the Primo is dead and unusable. I finally decided to not spend any more time and money on an expensive unit that should have worked from day one without the drama. I requested to return the unit for a refund through Customer Service.. Volumio’s return policy is the customer pays freight and VAT charge for returns. Bottom line: • Ordered an expensive unit $849.00 USD. Should have been plug&play. • Unit did now work upon receipt and still doesn’t work now, over a month later. • Cannot use my entire system now. • Will have to order a new unit (that works) from a different company. • Requested a refund, NO REPLY. Buyer beware

Lack of complete instructions and troubleshooting is beyond frustrating. For example, I have two raspberry pi devices. I finally got them to show up in My Volumio (don't ask me how) but only one works. Can't get the other to play music and I can't find guidance anywhere (not trying to play them at the same time, just switch back and forth). Tired of searching endlessly down the internet black hole. I just want to listen to high quality music for a reasonable price and I don't want to become a tech nerd to do so. Given on how buggy other users are reporting I'm just about ready to ditch the whole effort and either buy a server that just works (more expensive) or ditch streaming entirely because even Tidal through the device that does work (Orchard Audio PecanPi) doesn't sound any better than my Bluesound Node2 and both are substandard as compared to CD's and vinyl.

The app app is the worst app, i have ever used. Too slow everytime, it doesnt matter, what you are using from it. And very often i have to rebute the system. I am very angry about using the app. About the sound from the device...andplut top, and this is the One and only reason, that i dont sell it again.

Volumio 2x had much better sound quality. Developers refuse to acknowledge that fact that Volumio 3x was a step down in the SQ department. Its open source software so they can do what they want, but with the new update they also jacked up the price of My Volumio to $70 a year. Complained in the forum and they cut out my tongue. Left a sour taste on my mouth.
