“They overcharge the recommended price…They are the biggest rip off….They charge £20.00 for a pkt of 20 JP cigarettes when the retail price anywhere else is £12.50. They should not beallowed to do this as it is exploiting people who smoke..thats nt all…they overcharge on anything they can possibly get away with. I would never enter their premises again…they are tge bggest on….targeting people who are struggling to line their own pockets.”

“Lovely young lady in our Colchester Hospital Branch, called Amanda, helped us with phone charger, cables etc as well as the usual hair brush, comb, flannel (no soap??!!), toothbrush, toothpaste for a neighbour who had been admitted suddenly. Downside....outrageous prices!!!!!!!!!”

“I had no issues with the company up until now. I have ordered a book from the Step into Reading series about baseball a few months ago. I waited weeks and weeks and eventually I got an e-mail saying that my order got cancelled as this book is no longer available. Well if it’s no longer available then why have it on the website available for ordering? But anyway, no problem! I’ll just order a different book from the same series. Again, waited weeks and weeks and I recieve the SAME e-mail. The book is no longer available. WHSmith, could you please not bother putting books on your website that aren’t actually available to order? Because it’s a massive waste of time for people to order them and wait, only to find out that their orders got cancelled. Thanks.”

“Ordered book for delivery to shop which was delivered quickly. Shame about the problem of getting the book in the shop as there was no information about where to collect the book from. Obvious choice is book counter, the book department being unmanned !!, so eventually went to main shop checkout and found they have the items delivered directly to store adjacent to main checkout tills.”

“Great price for the book I wanted, however when I went to track the status of my order - the tracking section of the website was down. Had to wait until W H Smiths emailed me to let me know the status of my order.”
