“Wightlink are a good ferry company providing a regular service to the Isle of Wight. However they do not provide a public service and they are very expensive. If, as I do, you are regularly visiting elderly relatives, this is not a cheap option. Prices rise in the summer, and go down in the winter. I would like to see a bridge built, even with a toll it would still be cheaper, and I could get to my parents much quicker in an emergency. Wightlink are inclined to cancel crossings in the winter months, if they have not sold enough tickets, very very frustrating if you are trying to get there to take your Mum to a hospital appointment! Friends say the summer prices double the cost of their camping holidays, and this is going to affect the holiday trade for local business. I don’t really recommend them as there is no other option, Red Funnel are too far away to make them a viable option.”

“Only second time to the IOW Delays both way ! Stuff happens but it would be nice to have has an announcement telling us what was going on or an apology-but nothing Ferry prices far too high will make me and I imagine others think twice about going again which in turn will affect the islands economy which you can feel already, you can get cheaper deals to go to France 🇫🇷 which is madness IOW was great and we purchased the home produced products in abundance, love their attitude towards us dog owners made welcome wherever we went 👍”
