“I preordered a limited edition book with Wordery. They held onto my money for most of a year without telling me that all copies of the book had been accounted for and there were none left to deliver to me. A simple 'sorry, sold out' would have been disappointing but more understandable. I can't fathom the 'we're still talking to our distributors' line they fed me, several months after the book's release. I used the refund to buy another book I wanted and they managed to deliver that one, that's why they get as many as two stars. I try to support booksellers that aren't owned by the Amazon monolith but some of them make it difficult. Some water will have to pass under the bridge before I decide to risk getting taken for a mug by Wordery again.”
