The quality of components sold is the best, and even with a guarantee. The price is pleasant.

Praise where it is due for John Lewis’s customer service. Goods to the sum of £259, ordered 27th Nov. Received auto generated e-mails about dispatch, then nothing, no goods arrived, no tracking, no idea of the carrier. Sent e-mail to JL, this was replied to in 24 hours, case number allocated. Passed on to the section that deal with carriers. Waited 7 more days then e-mailed again. Received message within 24 hours to say that goods had been left outside on 4th Dec at 5.05pm. My wife and are I in our 70s so hardly go out, have surveillance camara, no record of a visit at that time. Blood pressure shot up as goods meant for special Christmas presents. Phoned customer services as suggested, waited 20 mins to speak to a very pleasant young woman who explained that JL had been using Amazon for deliveries. (If I had known this, I would not have ordered from JL). She said that they had been inundated with complaints such as mine, I then requested a full refund which was agreed upon which has been received by my bank this morning. So, no complaints apart from wishing to know why on earth did JL use Amazon as a courier company?

Wanted to buy iPhone and pad, very good customer care but pad not in stock and have to wait 3 days which will mean another trip to the shops.

Every time I go into the Aberdeen store just now the item I want to view is either not being sold in the Aberdeen store at all or it's not in stock so I'd need to order online. Honestly I'm sick of being told that it's all the consumer's fault that the high street is shutting down - I'm trying to go back to the high street and so far it's not working out too well, to be told the things I have by John Lewis I be aswell shop at Amazon! The whole point in shopping on the high street is so that you can view before you purchase and not need to return and refund things purchased online. You should be offering every city your full selection.

Usually I'm very happy with my purchases in JL. A year ago I got from them a Lego set worth 150 pounds and it was sent bubble wrapped and in a plastic bag. Luckilly the box didn't get smashed in shipping but the bubble wrap has been sellotaped to the box, and there was no way removing it without leaving marks... But it seems they have improved since. My recent orders all arrived in the boxes filled with the air pillows though. The good thing about JL is that they don't make a fuss when you want to return an item orderred online. And it's really easy to do - you just bring the item to the JL or Waitrose store or send it back on their cost (shipping label is provided with an invoice).

Ordered a photo frame as a click and collect order. I was told it would arrive in my chosen store in 2 day's time, but received the email/text to confirm it had arrive in 3 days. Wasn't a problem, but if I had needed it in the 2 day timeframe I would've had a problem. Frame was in perfect condition and is lovely, but the amount of packaging it came in was ridiculous! It was in this enormous box which was about 3 times the size of the actual frame which made getting it home really hard, not to mention the complete waste of cardboard and plastic being used. Please try to use less packaging JL.

Great store with lovely products and ace staff but they must get with the program and stop all the ghastly plastic. Not a plain roll of Christmas paper to be found and loads of ghastly , soon to be land fill , glitter and tinsel. THINK before you order more of this tat PLEASE

What made me happy was 50 years of great products, great service and excellent value. Its no longer the case though, withouu boring everyone with details my wife has been treat disgracefully over 6 months on a complaint about carpet Its clear to me that their complaint service process is out of control As consumers we need to call out not necessarily John Lewis per se, but the individual partners accountable for complaint handling and the the managing director responsible for maintaining quality throughout the organisation. We will get no real correction of John Lewis current failures until these people face up to their responsabilities and drive the organisation accordingly

On several occasions when I visited John Lewis the customer service was poor.On the 17th of september 2018@15.29 I was served by Jason Scotland,who went out of his way to serve me when trying to buy a suit.He got his colleague,Alistair Williams to measure me and tried to get a good fit to match my height and to get an alteration for my Suit Jacket.I was pleasantly surprised at Jason's politeness,curteous,professional and patience doing everything possible together with his polite and very professional colleague Alistair.I commend them very highly
