Works great to boost me up hills, then can turn off for normal terrain.

I have a Swytch Gen 3 and Max battery that I am very happy with. I was glad that I took time to investigate thoroughly first, reading through a lot of the facebook feedback before I purchased my kit. As a result, I paid the extra £40 and chose the OLED display because it enables me to go up and down in power level settings (e.g. 0, 1, 0, 1, 2,1,0), whereas, the standard controller requires you to go right up to level 5 before you can switch down to 0, 1, 2, etc.; consequently, I minimise my power usage to the extent that i often ride almost 30 miles and am still on level 3 or 2 battery when I finish/ The only change I would make is to the display, where I would increase the size of the power level characters and introduce a positive click on the power up and down buttons as it is not easy to see which power level you have selected, particularly in sunlight.

The product itself is great and I like that I can vary the power level to increase or decrease the drive. Great if you’ve not cycled for a while to help develop your fitness. Not so great is the customer support - parts did not come with the initial shipment, so the hub was unusable. I was supposed to receive a refund for the battery frame bracket which was never shipped. I never got my money back.

It’s very good for assistance on hills and in Edinburgh it helps so much having this small boost of power.

Has added enjoyment to my rides. Couple of negatives however, first it lacks hill power and is also fairly limited in range to about 8 miles.

+ points. Thoroughly enjoying experience. Given old bike and old legs a new lease of life. - points. Late delivery. Ordered led display as extra but expected to also get basic display so would have choice.

Relatively easy to fit. My bike is now too heavy to use without assistance though. If you are thinking of getting an extra battery later order with initial order as it is £40 delivery. I found finding my way around the ordering a little testing. Items were changed with my order with no mention beforehand. Overall it’s a great piece of kit.

A long wait for the kit but relatively easy to attach to my ordinary bike It all works ok and I have the max battery but the range on it is nothing like the advertised 39k even with light assistance. So I need another max battery to have any sort of practical ride-I am in London. Having said all that it is a great idea and I don’t think any battery does what is advertised

Not all swytch's fault, my trike came from China and nobody I know is able to fit the sensor on the pedal for me. However I can still hope.

Battery did not last and website is not easy to source a new one. If the website was better then I may consider replacing the battery - at present my bike is useless.

On the negative side, I find the battery doesn’t last as long as I’d expected, and the lights on the battery do not match the indicator on the display. The thumb throttle design makes it impossible to install on my bicycle. It interferes with the gear shifter. That said, I love it! Until the onset of winter made it impossible to continue, I found myself riding every day, a significant accomplishment for me. I look forward to warmer weather to get back out on it!

I have had my Swytch bike for two years , no problems at all. I have an old and new style battery on the bike. but changing leads is somewhat "fiddly" to get all the little pins lined up correctly. Could you invent two Y junctions so that both batteries are connected . This is what I mean. The tail of Y ONE connects to the power lead on the wheel, one of the "arms" to one battery the other to the other battery. The tail of Y TWO connects to the magnet on the chain wheel, one arm to one battery, the other arm to the other battery. This means that only one battery will be switched on at a time, when that goes flat, press off button and press on button on charged battery

Great concept. have been a user since the very first version on kickstarter/indiegogo. However over the years, the upgrades are too expensive, making it not worthwhile value for money at all. sorry! If the upgrades were more affordable, then i would do it.

Battery life is terrible and the battery indicator does not match the output power level. Just use one set of LED like other E-Bikes. I have many friends who complain of the same issue.

Battery life is poor. Motor rubs on the front fork of my Brompton. Tolerances are so tight, this must be a major issue for others. Motor often ‘pulses’ rather than clean, even pull. Given how long I waited these points leave me feeling a little let down and probably wouldn’t recommend to other Brompton users

Design and assembly was as advertised but mileage estimates were significantly overrated. I started with the smaller battery and struggled to get the expected range even with keeping the assist levels as low as practically possible, and/or even turning it off while on level grade. I later purchased the larger battery and now use the smaller battery as a backup for longer rides. In addition, the estimated battery level indicator and power management is not very well calibrated and cannot be reliably used to estimate remaining range. For example, you may have 3/5 bars, and think that you have greater than 50% battery remaining, but that rapidly drops to 1 bar (or may even die) as you start to climb a hill, only to go back to 2 or 3 bars when you level out again. This can be frustrating. In addition, when the assist is turned off, the motor adds a noticeable drag, and is similar to riding in a light sand. Aside from these issues, the product works well, and makes riding enjoyable again, even when using the least amount of assist. I just recommend you treat the battery mileage estimates as absolute best case scenarios when on a level grade and when using the least amount of assist. If your ride consists of numerous hills and/or you want to use the most assist, I would cut the estimates in half. I would still recommend the product if you are considering converting your bike (as opposed to a new ebike) to enjoy casual 12mph rides - just expect less than advertised range and plan accordingly. If you are looking for a high performance bike, that is going run 20mph for extended commutes shop elsewhere.

I like my Swytch bike a lot now that I have it installed, the way it handles hills and inclines is all I hoped for. The installation is a little tricky, I had to take it to a bike shop to swap the tire onto the new wheel and getting the sensor placed and the spacers figured out for the handlebar was no easy task but I managed. Your website leaves much to be desired, it's not user friendly at all, I'm looking to make a simple purchase of a spare battery and have to go through your support portal for assistance. Overall I give the installed kit 5 stars but I'm giving 4 stars in this review because your customer service is lacking

I love my Switch bike. The set-up was pretty easy, and I love boost of energy when peddling up hill. The battery can go quickly so you have to choose your spots to use it.

Quite good kit, easy to install in most aspects. I had an issue to mount the front wheel as the shaft was larger than the fork hole so needed to grind away some material to make it fit. Battery life was less then expected. I got the Max but during my bike commute have run out of battery before getting home, total roundtrip is 20 km. Conditions have been challenging, -10C and snow but I bought Max in order to have margin. Easy to use and works well.
