I was quite happy with the first Swytch kit - the second generation ECO model. It performed/performs well, but the battery pack bracket developed a defect that disabled the communication between the pedal sensor and the motor. After much back and forth with Swytch Support, they did replace the battery bracket at no additional cost even though the one-year warranty had expired. The replacement bracket developed the same defect and was replaced again. That was great! Luckily, the this third bracket has not conked out yet (after about 6 months of use). Then came the third generation AIR model. Nicely compact, but the performance was/is very disappointing compared to ECO, particularly during climbs at power levels 3, 2, or 1. At a battery level of 4 it often can't deliver for even a short climb on a paved road and the motor cuts out during the climb. After about a 40 to 75 second "recovery", the battery is able to deliver power, but cuts out again soon there after. It is annoying to say the least and this is one reason I will not purchase a Swytch kit again. While the motor and pedal sensor through successive generations has been (until recently) preserved, the battery pack assembly has not been conserved. I managed to mount the ECO and the AIR on my bike such that I can switch (no pun intended) between the two as needed, but this requires replugging the motor and the pedal sensor. Better than having only to rely on one. Swytch could have offered a compatibility kit to make this possible, but in spite of their innovation, they did not. Also disappointing. Swytch's ticketing system is poor. You can not have more than one open ticket at a time. You often have to communicate with multiple support agents which can be frustrating depending upon how well each one understands the communication and the issues. If you have a real problem (and you know what you are doing), it will take a lot of effort to convince Swytch of a problem and possible solution. Sometimes they close cases before they are verified resolved. Still, they do come through in the end and respond quickly to replies. I had ordered an A-Frame bracket for AIR, but it never came... or was never flawlessly produced. I was given quite a runaround on this for months and in the end demanded a refund, which they granted. Swytch provided a seat bracket at no cost, which was better than nothing, yet not what I wanted. Nevertheless, it has allowed me to use AIR and ECO on the same bike and I am grateful for that.

I am very happy with my swytch bike conversion. The extra power allows me to keep up with some of my fitter friends and even pass them on the up hill stretches. The only problem I have is the limited range of the battery I purchased. I have looked in to getting an additional battery but I have had trouble understanding what the options are on the web site.

It works very well- great portability and I love being able to take the battery off as I live in an area where there is a high crime level. It doesn't have quite the range advertised. It's advertised as having a range of 12 miles max, but my battery is drained after 5 miles of gentle roads.

I've only had my Swytch Bike a few months and am very happy with it. So, full marks on the product side. On the service side, I'd have to give 0/10 though. I ordered and paid for delivery to South Africa. When I received nothing several months later, I was told Swytch Bike no longer delivered to South Africa. Which is fine - except (a) it was an option at the time; (b) they took the money for that delivery; and (c) Swytch Bike never told me - I had to enquire what was happening. When it was discovered they no longer delivered to South Africa, I said fine - they can just arrange to courier. This they refused to do. In short, their problem became my problem. I then had to arrange for the pack to be delivered in the UK - and had an awful time trying to arrange for it to be delivered in SA - at huge expense. So, in summary, great product - but appalling service, I'm afraid.

I nearly cancelled my order when I discovered that a delivery charge of £50 would be added to the cost. (I bought my kit about one year ago.) That is outrageous for a company that is based in the UK and is supplying within the UK. (I live near Bristol.) Such a delivery charge might be justified if delivering to the USA or Australia but not for an address within the UK. Delivery should be free within the UK or the cost should be included in the price. It should not be an add on. I service my bike (a 1982 Claud Butler) once a year when I clean and grease the axles and adjust the cones. How do you do a similar service on a Swytch wheel? A video or pdf file with instructions would be useful.

Took a while to arrive although to be fair, it arrived as promised. Went together well, excellent packaging and instructions. Has transformed the experience on the bike. It works very well on the Brompton. One little niggle - the mounting of the sensor for the magnets isn’t fully secure so the slightest knock can stop it sensing. Not good when the bike user doesn’t understand such things, especially so for a folding bike. In any case, would much prefer a torque sensor as there have been moments when the assistance was more than desirable.

Tricky to install neatly on a Brompton, especially the frame mounted pedal sensor. I bought the Standard LED which doesn't have a hinged bracket and felt like it was going to snap when opened up, so I had to remove the handle bar grip and brake lever to fit it. The kit is working well and worth it in the end.

All very good however the battery doesn’t last long enough, I live in a hilly area and would have ordered a bigger battery

I love the electric option. Makes riding so much more relaxing. What I dislike is the censor keeps coming away when I ride so the electric cuts off. I actually waste alot of time on the road stopping and moving the censor around so it detects. I have a bromtpon. Also the price dropped after I purchased it which was annoying

Install was fairly straight-forward with the website instruction help. (Our axle needed some filing down.) I have figured out how to use Swytch, but why don't you provide written instructions for use? Seeing the people riding around on videos is not very helpful in determining what the settings for the unit should be in different conditions and the proper use of the toggle switch.

The system is competitively priced and delivery times are falling. Mine arrived in about 2 weeks. Dont expect this to remove the strain altogether though. The range is a best case scenario based on you pedalling too. i think it is worth it, but I can see how the advertising has led others to expect more.

1) Not all parts were shipped with the original order, two months receiving the correct parts and the process was not simple. 2) The wheel is out of balance and the front brake will not operate correctly as it grabs and bounces. 3)The supplied battery is supposed to be good for 15K but will not last that long even on the lowest power setting. That size battery is worthless in my opinion. The overall riding experience is as expected when working properly and you don't have to brake often. Installation was as described.

When I first started riding with the motor on and figured out how to adjust it to my riding style I really like it. It was easy to install and getting used to it. Have been riding more and really enjoying it. Thank you for such a great product
