I ride my Brompton on far more journeys now it is fitted with the Swytch kit, purely because it makes the hills seem like the flat.

Absolutely brilliant upgrade to my wife’s hybrid. Took a bit of “fettling” (file and angle grinder!) of the front forks to get the spindle of the wheel to fit, but everything else was easy. Some progress photos uploaded

Great piece of equipment - easy to assemble to the bike and works excellently. One tiny issue (the wheel was ~15mm smaller in diameter than the one it replaced [universal kit] and the tyre doesn't fit as well when changed over) .

Having tried out two e-bikes several years ago, we'd entertained the idea of a possible purchase sometime in the future. However, the biggest stumbling block to our plans were that we both owned bikes that we were loathe to abandon so the idea of a conversion kit grew more appealing as the years ticked by. Having discovered Swyche, and having read the various reviews, we duly put orders in, and the two boxes arrived in early October. I purchased two install kits, the PRO versions. The installs were fairly straight forward although I did find the website a bit confusing to navigate, what I wanted was a comprehensive set of instructions at the front of the web pages. Also, the 'quick install paper instruction' seemed unnecessary, let's have a full set of paper comprehensive instructions supplied with each kit. Unfortunately I received the wrong sized wheel for my wife's bike, 700c, not 27". They initially agreed that I could use the 700c wheel providing I could fit it and they would order the correct size asap. I had to buy a new tyre to fit the 700c wheel and by minimal adjustments to the brake, my wife was able enjoy her bike. Swyche then contacted me and offered a refund instead of the correct wheel which I accepted as I decided to upgrade the back wheel also. This would mean I could obtain new tyres if necessary when cycling abroad. The only other problems were the pedal sensors, the ones supplied are too big and are apt to move out of alignment. I have managed a slight temporary modification, but am awaiting two new alternative sensors. In terms of how they work, we are both thoroughly enjoying the benefits of a Swyche conversion and have racked up 500 Kms between us. We are very pleased we took the decision to convert our much loved steel framed classic touring bikes. Both bikes, a 30+ year old Carlton Courette and a similar age Raleigh Royal, with the kit fitted weigh an almost identical 19kgs so still competitive weight wise with much more expensive modern offerings and still offer a very decent riding experience when cycling without e bike power.

Swytch electric bike conversion is a fabulous bit of kit. Interesting to fit, with full support should you have any non standard bike parts. Great ride and particularly great assistance on hills. It can be covert if you want so it's not obviously an electric bike. If you have a bit of a wait for order and delivery that's due in part to the success of the kit well worth it.

My experience of Swytch is that they have a good solid product and excellent support and after sales service for the product. the Kits are easy to install plus any issues and they quickly offer online support and Zoom chats. I personally waited 8 months from ordering in march 2020 to delivery but in fairness this was in 2020 so they were many small delays that just added up. (this is the only reason i havent given 5 stars) From talking to others that ordered in October 2020 they have been receving theirs in around 3 months, so much has improved. I would deffinately recomend this product. To go better you will pay a lot lot more.

Having long been tempted by the idea of an e-bike, my interest was piqued when I learnt about Swytch and the ability to keep my existing bike. I took the plunge last summer. Whilst I understand the business model and was fully aware of the long ordering process it was a little frustrating not to be able to have the kit in a matter of days or weeks. I am very much a fair weather cyclist so the prospect of the kit arriving in the middle of December was a little disappointing. However, overall I was happy to trade this off against the cost savings compared to buying a ready built e-bike. Once the kit arrived I found it very easy to set up. The only drawback was the need for Swytch to send me spacers for my handlebars as the ones supplied were an unsuitable size- I appreciate the need to keep costs - and therefore prices - down but it is a shame that the kit does not include several different size spacers. This caused a frustrating delay of a further week before I could try out the kit. However, now everything is up and running I am very pleased with the set-up. Everything works perfectly and I am very happy with the performance and flexibility of the settings. I am now using my bike on a regular basis and no longer count myself as a fair weather cyclist, tackling longer and hillier journeys than in the past. The wait was worthwhile and I thoroughly recommend this as an alternative to buying a second or replacement bike. Rating would be 5 stars if the business model was different but the price was the same!

After a long wait, the Swytch universal kit finally arrived. I've installed it on my wife's Giant Box Two full-suspension mountain bike. The end result is great; my wife is very happy. She can now keep up and overtake :-$, recently easily completing an initial 14 mile circuit. The installation needs some comment. If you have 1" diameter handlebars where it is clamped to the stem you will need to ask for some suitable spacers; they aren't included by default. Regarding the pedal sensor magnetic disk installation. For the size of gap between the pedal arm and frame, the manual suggested 'Easy Fit Regular' configuration. However, due to the 16mm spindle diameter, with the semi-circular toothed spacers trimmed to suit, it seemed to me to be liable to be knocked off since the semi-circular disks are not a tight fit nor is the retention ring (circlip) a tight fit. So I decided to glue them together with contact adhesive (which should still allow for it to be dismantled in the future if needed) AND I installed the pedal disk arm. This has resulted in a much more secure installation. Being a full-suspension mountain bike, the pedal sensor itself had to be trimmed to fit nicely, which was suggested in the manual. The front wheel was an easy fit and blends nicely with the existing rear wheel. The other components fitted easily. In use, it just works! We did discover that there is a 0 power level which I think to maximise range will be needed because the assistance wasn't necessary on the flat (or downhill of course). It would also have been easier to change power level without taking your hands off the handlebar but that isn't an option. We did try the twist throttle but it interferes with the gear levers so it can't be used. I gave it four stars because there is room for improvement both on kit content and price. Looking forward to the summer!

There was a long wait, bad luck to order during Covid19 outbreak, and their communication during this period was not good. When the kit arrived I was impressed and the installation was pretty easy and well explained. I unfortunately had one of the Pro packs with the judders. Customer service was responsive initially offering to send a complete new kit. Nothing arrived so on contacting them again I was informed that no not a new kit but a reprogrammed controller! Unfortunately this was also defective. Finally a 2nd reprogrammed controller arrived and it worked. 12months after the order I am now satisfied. Being in Australia meant long waits. The kit itself and its implementation is fantastic, so good that I have ordered second kit for my touring bike. I have learnt to be patient, Good things come to those who wait!

Overall, I am really pleased with my Brompton Pro Swytch kit. Like many there was a slight delay in delivery due to the surge in demand for ebikes but this wasn't an issue for me as I bought the kite to convert my work commute bike and due to the ongoing Covid situation, I am still not back in the office. The Brompton Pro kit initially suffered from some vibration issues, however they have managed to fix this with a software update to the controller. Drawing a line on all of that I now have a Brompton kit which I love. It allows me to do 20mile rides without turning up looking all hot a sweaty. It has also opened up certain routes which were to advanced/tough for me, i.e. really steep hills no longer a problem. Overall I would recommend. The initial supply and performance issues were all resolved and over time I am sure the company will iron out things like this. I am left with a product I really enjoy riding.

installed the kit on my Fuji absolute 1.1. Pedal assist kit only (did not order the throttle) … and also the basic LED display. The battery and battery mount is an awesome concept and makes it so easy to put in and take the battery out for charging. The battery is also easy to carry considering it just looks like an oversize power bank. The build quality is topnotch. Only “glitch” in the install was the axle size which was a tad too big for my fork’s dropout - but a little time spent filing did the trick and the wheel/hub motor got installed fine. Took the bike for a road test and it was a fun ride. I live in a relatively hilly little city north of Dallas and sure made going up those hills a breeze. Good value for the money and can see myself travelling with this bike - well, ebike now.

The kit is very good value for money. It was easy to fit to my bike, except for the sensor detecting the pedal rotation speed. This is because the tubing at the crank on my specialized mountain bike is a larger diameter than a standard road bike. However I managed to adjust it so that it worked ok. After one year of use I find that I have had to adjust that sensor from time to time as it can move a little and the motor then responded intermittently, but adjusting it solved the problem. However Swytch have now offered to send me a replacement updated sensor and magnet disc to solve the problem permanently. Good service.

I got the Swytch kit with the max battery pack early March 2023 and have been using it for a month. I bought it to convert my Trek Lync3 commuter bike into an ebike, making my commuter easier and safier. The installation was fairly simple and I have been very pleased by how smooth and silent the electric motor in the wheel is. One big plus with this conversion kit is how light it is - 17.5kg with the battery, which beats most of the ebike on the market for a much more moderate price - and the ability to ride without the battery and assist if needed. The brushless motor adds a little resistance if you ride without battery or with the motor off, but not really requiring more effort than before. The display is fairly simple and very clear, and easily control all setting (wheel diameter, max speed). I have not tested the full autonomy of the battery yet, my rides have only been
