Swytch Universal Pro Kit I ordered my Switch Bike Universal Pro Kit in February 2021 in advance through its website where I purchased it at discounted rate 40 percent off the original price. Although it was a long wait for my Swytch Bike Universal Pro Kit. The Swytch Bike Universal Pro Kit arrived in early June 2021. Everything arrived in a well packaged box . I followed the instructions fitted the new wheel, sensor and handle bar mount. The installation was mostly straight forward apart from the sensor which fits to the pedal took a bit of time to get in the correct position. In use it is excellent at boosting acceleration from a standstill. It drops away seamlessly when speeds goes above 15 mph and surges back when speeds drop as when encountering a hill. The performance so far is good, time will tell how it performs long term. Registering the warranty took longer. The warranty check in could have been soomther, they should have definitely put examples of all six pictures and the video required at the start of the process.

Used to commute and so far so good! On the maximum assistance setting when used for around 10 minutes (2 miles) the charging time to full takes around 35 minutes. It would be great to have some type of more durable cover for the battery contact points as the cover is now becoming frayed. Something like a clip-on hard plastic cover would work a treat! :)

I used the kit to modify my single speed. The wheel size is 700c and has a relatively large gear ratio. I find the bike delivers good acceleration with the pedal assist. Once the bike is up to speed you can defiantly still feel the power giving you an additional boost. The throttle feature is quite useful also. Especially when starting from stationary. I would of liked slightly more power from the bottom of of the throttle but still pretty efficient. The battery pack charging light is quire small and easy to miss when it turns green. Especially when the instructions warn of leaving the battery on charge excessively. The battery pack is also mounted on the handle bars. which adds weight to the turning of the bike. I would of preferred to have the battery mounted in some other position on the frame.

The new Swytch kit with the smaller sized battery is so much better as it adds less weight. This product makes it much more affordable to get into the electric bike market. I love that I can ride more easily in my area which is quite hilly and certainly encourages me to get out more on my bike.

Having fitted the Swytch kit 3 months ago I can highly recommend it. It has encouraged me to use my bike when I wouldn't have considered it previously. The larger battery seems to to be ideal for my use. The installation was easy having watched a couple of YouTube videos showing the process. The videos highlight some of the optional installation items that are in the manual, but as I usually find watching is easier than reading :) Build quality of the components seems good and the connectors seal well against our lovely weather. Overall, I am very pleased with my upgraded bike, I just need to order another one so my wife doesn't get left behind when out riding.

I got a Swytch kit for my Brompton, and have been very pleased with it. Use it mainly for a 5 mile commute, including one large hill. The kit works extremely well - it is a 3 gear Brompton, and the hill would be a challenge with the Swytch. With it, I can do it easily. One small drawback is that the plastic sensor fittings are quite thin and easily damaged, so that after a few years mine is kept in place with sellotape (!). But Swytch have kindly offered to replace it for free, so no problems there.

I'm giving 4 stars because overall the product is good, even though it's not perfect (but then again, nothing is!). Note that this is a review for the previous version of the Swytch. I have yet to try the new one, although I was satisfied enough with my experience that I ordered the conversion kit for the new Swytch. The battery is powerful (I have the pro version), lasts about 40km (if I did the calculation right based on my commute) and it's a great advantage to have the battery pack on the handlebar so that I keep the mount free for bags (I converted a Brompton). I haven't had any problems in terms of maneuverability with the battery on the handlebar. The addition of the swytch did not impact at all on the bike's folding mechanism, but has made my commute easier. I did wait quite a few months to get the equipment (somewhat expected, but it did take a long time). The other downside is that it could be easier to order spare parts. Overall, it's been net positive so far.

Overall my initial impressions of the kit are favourable. The installation took about 1.5 hours and was straightforward. As some others have noted, it assumes that your dropouts have a 10 mm wide slot. This should have been stated up front. Also, the website continues to claim that the front wheel with motor weights 1.5 kg which is not true. The 700C wheel weighs just under 3 kg which adds about 2 kg to the bike weight. Most worried about the longevity of the pedal sensor.

700km and still running! The only disadvantage so far is the rim of the wheel seems slightly bigger causing the outer tube changeing very difficult.

Very pleased with my Swytch kit. I have the hi-power option but keep it restricted to 25km/h limit on the road. Good points: its powerful, reasonably quiet (although I'm hard of hearing so not best judge of that), easy to fit, very reasonably priced and very cheap entry into the e-bike revolution. Good quality for the money. Range is good but more like 30 miles than 50 miles on a full charge, but I imagine that's down to being the hi-power kit. On the standard one, I expect the range would be closer to 50 miles. Bad points: 50 mile Battery and hub motor (bigger than standard) are quite heavy, and battery does impact on the steering, so would be interested in forthcoming new smaller, Eco battery. Motor makes an occasional grinding noise that I hope is not an indication of a pending fault or breakdown but hasn't gotten any worse since it started.

I’ve been pretty happy with my swytch so far. When it works it is great, but it can be a bit finicky. I’m glad I got the throttle, as that works every time! The pedal assist can be a bit spotty. I recently did two 55 mile days over some fairly hilly country and the switch really helped! The battery lasted almost the whole time!

The swytch kit is convenient you don't have to buy a new bike rather, you can convert your old bike into an e-bike. I have the 500w wheel, which has been great so far. I usually use the padel assist function when I am going to work or school so I don't sweat. It also comes in handy after soccer practice that when I usually go all out (23-25mph). Swytch makes life easier, it's a great convenience. The only issue that I have is with mileage I bought the 50 mile battery pack but I barely get 15 miles going on pedal assist 3. If the swytch team could fix that, then this product would deserve 5 stars.

good except for the delivery time. following the instruction, kit installation is easy in a old bike too. a suggestion for the battery charger: a simple electronic card for ampere absorption measurement and regulation will be wery usefull for overnight charging.

My wife and I are over 70 and both ride Bromptons so we bought two kits. Swytch seem to be the only supplier for Brompton kits that doesn't require irreversible engineering. This means the kits can be removed and the bikes sold as original should you want to do that. Their pricing makes it a worthwhile upgrade. I’ve had no significant issues fitting the kits and the usability of the bikes with them fitted is very good, although we have yet to do any significant mileage. Folding is unaffected which was significant for us as we wanted to have bikes where we can get both of them into the car boot (mid sized family car). Some care is required in routing the existing front brake cable and gear cable around the battery, also fitting of the pedal sensor can be a little fiddly but once you work that out the rest is straight forward. We've just recently had a holiday in France where we used both bikes effortlessly. Overall I’ve been very pleased with the installation and find riding the bikes quite easy. A couple of minor niggles... The power setup options are many and varied and if I was truthful could do with some simplification but that’s a minor thing. The battery can be difficult to remove from the handlebar attachment and if not carefully positioned can foul against the T-bag which is quite large. Overall very happy however.

After a shakey start with several technical issues, I'm now loving the Swytchkit on my Brompton. I live in a hilly area and 50 mile kit copes well. Hoping for years of reliable e-biking!

Great idea but 25miles battery doesn't not even get half way and diffocult to use on a disc brake bike.
