“Affordable PAS that is easy to use including charging and maintenance. Customer service is via a tough email process and is not all that efficient in my eyes but eventually gets the job done Biggest frustration for me is that even though the battery indicator shows 2 bars, often the led display starts flashing and cuts off power!! Usually a restart helps but this is a bummer since it makes you feel you need to manage power too soon”

“It's an inexpensive alternative to a stand-alone electric bike. Mine and my wife's work very well. Three minor issues: even at the lowest assist level, they go pretty fast and you spend a lot of the ride coasting. The pedal sensor system is cumbersome, and I found a third party all-in-one sensor which mounts on the crank to be much easier to install and use. And the range isn't as good as I'd like. Otherwise, great product.”

“I love the idea of Swytch but the reality with my bike wasn’t great. I have a lightweight aluminium road bike with narrow forks and a chunky frame, fitting the Swytch kit proved extremely challenging and time consuming. I had lots of support for which I thank Swytch however I was unable to fit pedal sensors so was offered a throttle which is good but illegal on public roads and really isn’t what I wanted. I also had to fit a handlebar extender. Yes my bike is fast, on private roads, but it’s now very heavy and not as much fun to use”

“I have a Swytch Gen 3 and Max battery that I am very happy with. I was glad that I took time to investigate thoroughly first, reading through a lot of the facebook feedback before I purchased my kit. As a result, I paid the extra £40 and chose the OLED display because it enables me to go up and down in power level settings (e.g. 0, 1, 0, 1, 2,1,0), whereas, the standard controller requires you to go right up to level 5 before you can switch down to 0, 1, 2, etc.; consequently, I minimise my power usage to the extent that i often ride almost 30 miles and am still on level 3 or 2 battery when I finish/ The only change I would make is to the display, where I would increase the size of the power level characters and introduce a positive click on the power up and down buttons as it is not easy to see which power level you have selected, particularly in sunlight.”

“The product itself is great and I like that I can vary the power level to increase or decrease the drive. Great if you’ve not cycled for a while to help develop your fitness. Not so great is the customer support - parts did not come with the initial shipment, so the hub was unusable. I was supposed to receive a refund for the battery frame bracket which was never shipped. I never got my money back.”

“Relatively easy to fit. My bike is now too heavy to use without assistance though. If you are thinking of getting an extra battery later order with initial order as it is £40 delivery. I found finding my way around the ordering a little testing. Items were changed with my order with no mention beforehand. Overall it’s a great piece of kit.”

“A long wait for the kit but relatively easy to attach to my ordinary bike It all works ok and I have the max battery but the range on it is nothing like the advertised 39k even with light assistance. So I need another max battery to have any sort of practical ride-I am in London. Having said all that it is a great idea and I don’t think any battery does what is advertised”

“On the negative side, I find the battery doesn’t last as long as I’d expected, and the lights on the battery do not match the indicator on the display. The thumb throttle design makes it impossible to install on my bicycle. It interferes with the gear shifter. That said, I love it! Until the onset of winter made it impossible to continue, I found myself riding every day, a significant accomplishment for me. I look forward to warmer weather to get back out on it!”

“I like my Swytch bike a lot now that I have it installed, the way it handles hills and inclines is all I hoped for. The installation is a little tricky, I had to take it to a bike shop to swap the tire onto the new wheel and getting the sensor placed and the spacers figured out for the handlebar was no easy task but I managed. Your website leaves much to be desired, it's not user friendly at all, I'm looking to make a simple purchase of a spare battery and have to go through your support portal for assistance. Overall I give the installed kit 5 stars but I'm giving 4 stars in this review because your customer service is lacking”

“I love my Switch bike. The set-up was pretty easy, and I love boost of energy when peddling up hill. The battery can go quickly so you have to choose your spots to use it.”

“Quite good kit, easy to install in most aspects. I had an issue to mount the front wheel as the shaft was larger than the fork hole so needed to grind away some material to make it fit. Battery life was less then expected. I got the Max but during my bike commute have run out of battery before getting home, total roundtrip is 20 km. Conditions have been challenging, -10C and snow but I bought Max in order to have margin. Easy to use and works well.”

“We were very happy with the entire purchasing process of our Swytch bikes. Delivery time was a little longer than expected, but we also ordered just prior to the Covid pandemic. We are in the US and shipping was greatly affected by the pandemic. None of the delay was the fault of Swytch! Any future correspondence we’ve had with the Swytch team has been answered promptly, and taken care of without any hitches. We enjoy our bicycles with the pedal assist option. We did not purchase a throttle because we want to benefit from pedaling. This was a good option for us because it allows us to ride in a low assist level or without any assist as our bicycles are lighter weight than a lot of the full electric bikes that are out there. We are very happy that we discovered this option and happy that Swytch came up with this idea.”

“Only rated as 4 presently as my wife had limited opportunity to fully test it did not have enough in saddle time to test battery endurance and flexibility of motor settings but was fully satisfied at the performance in the two rides she did and the ease of fitting,contemplating buying one for my own bike, definately a must for cyclists in their seventies. “After ordering it I had to wait longer than the time I was told it would take. During that time I received at least 20 marketing emails which had nothing to do with my purchase. I found that very annoying. The technical support was excellent because I had prompt helpful replies every time I made an enquiry always from the same person. The main problem was that I had to source different screws for the hub motor because the six dome headed screws were fouling the inside of the front fork. Eventually I found SS hexagonal headed screws but had to file the heads down to about half their original thickness, also I had to cut them to about half their length. I also had to file the flats on the axle down from 10mm to 9mm. Getting the sensor to rotate with a constant gap between it and the sensor was a bit of a faff, but just needed patience. Once done I had only two short outings totalling about 15miles before I had an accident by fainting while riding it. I was taken to A and E and spent a week in hospital. I've not cycled for 6months on medical advice but in a few days I will be allowed to ride my bike again. I was delighted with the performance of the Swytch conversion in the short time I had with it. I was not impressed by the marketing team's constant bombardment by emails of irrelevant sales jargon. Also, without my level of engineering workshop skills, the kit would not have functioned properly.”

“Swytch Bike has made my 3 mile/5 kilometer commute more fun. Set up was easier than expected with my only gripe being that I had to file the axle down to fit in the fork of my 2013 Trek FX 7.2. My town is very hilly so I also purchased the throttle to help get me up to speed with traffic faster. Overall unbeatable performance for the price, especially since I wasn’t sure if I’d even like an e-bike.”

“I love my Swytch. The light weight and perfect fit are great. It is much less cumbersome than the “real” ebike I got for my wife. The problem is I need a second(backup) battery so I can go on longer excursions. I’ve tried to order one from Swytch but I’m told that I have to buy another whole kit! What’s with that?”
