It is an excellent support for the extra power I need when riding my Brompton for daily commuting. It makes my rides easier, but pedaling is still part of the job. It is also light weight so when I have to turn it of does not affect much my experience. Battery is good for about 10 kilometers, but depends a lot on the terrain, rider weight, and pedaling power. I am an above the average cyclist with low body weight and I get about 10-12 km range on a moderately hilly ride.

Happy overall with my Swytch experience 9 months after receipt, but a little disappointed with the range. I have the Maxx battery - I ride at level 1 minimum output, which is good for my 20km round trip journey, but not much more. Not overly hilly, total 120m elevation.

The extra power makes cycling so much more enjoyable. I had hoped to use it on a bike I have at my holiday home but it would not transfer easily. I would suggest it is more for casual cycling. Great service from the team

Thanks to Swytch I have been able to utilize my trusty butcher bike from 1959, making it an enjoyable and practical ride. However, as my battery was stolen, I had to supply my initial order. After waiting for months, and being informed about progress underway, I was eventually informed: "We have not been able to deliver your Kit to your region and today we have processed a full refund". I was so fortunate as to track down a spare battery locally (buying it from someone whose bike had been stolen) - otherwise I would had been seriously disappointed. When you start serving a region/country, you have to be able to follow up!

Good points - increased our cycling range and the additional power up hills great. Kit reasonably easy to fit, although I had to buy larger cable ties. Not so good - once kit ordered communication with Swytch impossible. Waited seven months for kit having paid with order! Just bought extra max battery (eye watering price) as range of original Max battery deteriorated to 15 miles. Now have local cycle store who sell/fit kits and are really helpful - this new business model is great!

My swytchbike tourer works really well a d I'm enjoying riding it. I've only given 4 stars, however, because my Brompton kit gives intermittent judder on the front wheel. I've tried swapping controllers, disconnected the hall sensor, checked that the pedal sensor disc is set up correctly, all to no avail. To get smooth operation, I have to, momentarily stop pedalling, then slowly start pedalling, sometimes several times, then it's smooth again. I suspect it's a motor problem, as the controller works perfectly on my tourer. Another possibility is the mount, but I've cleaned and checked the connectors, which seem ok

Did a Brompton conversion on my wife’s bike back in March 2021. The conversion was pretty straightforward but it was comforting to have a video check done on completion. There were a couple of build issues but their customer support was excellent and replacement parts arrived in a few days. On the road the bike was transformed and my wife loves it. After a few rides it developed a fault where there was a power judder from the front wheel. Again customer support was excellent they said they were aware of the problem and were developing a software modification. After about a month ( delay to to post Covid transport issues) I received a replacement controller with full fitting instructions. This fixed the issue and since then the system has worked well. We have the old heavy battery fitted on the handlebars and this is not an elegant or very stable solution. Good to see they have now developed a small lightweight battery but unfortunately it’s too expensive for it to be worthwhile for our bike. The range with the old battery is around 20 miles which is all we need but might not suit everybody. All in all it’s been a successful project and the support I have received from Swytch more than made up for the small problems along the way. I have not commented on delivery below as being just post Covid there were all sorts of transport problems but again we were kept well informed on developments.

Everything spot on - except for that tricky pedal arm and sensor. Had to take bike into bike shop so they could do it. I'm fairly practical but gave up in the end. The system is brilliant and easy to switch on and off - I use it mostly when there is a tough hill climb. Seems to have added very little extra weight to my bike.

Really good system and excellent value for money. Very good customer service. Securing the pedal sensor to the frame so that it doesn’t require continual adjustment is a challenge where the bike does not have conventional bottom bracket tubing. Have had to resort to velcro! The availability of alternative fixing options should be considered.

Cool idea and the technology works well 1 month in. Battery life isn't as good as expected. The rangers advertised are in perfect, flat conditions so in real life we are getting closer to 10km target then 15km range in the AIR battery. Had some trouble fitting the wheel but customer support were excellent and actually sent out a new wheel for us. Impressed with that. The product itself is useful for a boost on the commute.

A great kit, fairly easy to put together. It really makes a difference to how I use my bike. The LED controller is rubbish though and has a mind of its own.

Reasonable value. But the longevity of components not good which makes cost of ownership more expensive than it seems at first. Hopefully my new gen 3 lasts longer.

I don't get tired anymore cycling up the hills of my town! They gave me a big discount on my second order, even after I had paid, and the refund worked without problems. The customer services is quite nice and works well. They always solve my problems. The price is a bit higher. I had done a pre-order for both of my purchases and I had a problem with parts of my last order missing. I was waiting for the delivery for more than a month. But, financially, it arrived safe and sound. The delivery time is the most difficult aspect of the company. Thanks for continuing to improve the product and give us a good costumer service!

My overall opinion is, that I am happy in general terms, but..... Maybe, your new batteries design like ipad model, and the suitable places to fix along the bike, would be better in stead of the "box battery" placed in front on my handlebar, that causes unstability with oscillations, when you loose yours hands. Another little problem that I solve atfer your recomendatios, was the cleanning and adjustment of the "connectors piano" between battery and handlebar connector to avoid the fluctuations in the continous power cycling assistance. Maybe the Brexit for the rest of the UE's countries, increases and feed the hardest burocracy customs and money uprised. When my battery comes to an end, maybe, I will get in contact again with you, for the new battery design buy. At last but not least, sorry for my poor english answers. Yours sincerely Javier Serrano de Pablo

After nearly a year, I have got to say that this is an impressively simple and effective way of going electric with the big bonus that the bicycle theives don't seem to be interested in it. My partner has lost two expensive conventional ebikes from our "safe" lockup in the time. With mine, the battery pack is easily hidden. Care needs to be taken in sizing your battery. I have two: one mini and one max and alternate according to the planned use during the day. I am a light user, perpetually on the P1 setting on our flat and smooth cycleways and quiet backstreets...its a means of getting me up to the legally mandated 27kmh maximum where the system cuts out. Even with heavy shopping loads I never have to envoke higher settings and so have never flattened either battery completely. My pet peeve is that there is no USB-C port for topping up other devices nor blue comms and app with my phone. Both features I would happily pay for.

Long wait for a gen2 pro, came with issues but customer service was professional and sorted them out. Happy daily use ever since. Recommend.

Generally very pleased. The weight of the battery on the handlebars is not apparent when on the move. Only need the highest power setting on the very steepest hills. Normally I use the lowest setting. Had to increase tyre size from 700x32c to 700x35c due to the extra weight and performance. On my hybrid bike the front wheel rim came apart due to brake block pressure. A local bike shop eventually sourced a rim and spokes and rebuilt the wheel. Would not happen with disc brakes! I said I would never get an electric bike but my wife got one. I could keep up on the level but not on inclines. The Swytch kit lets me keep up. I am in my seventies and the kit makes in easier on the knees (wear and tear). If I go for a ride I find I am going 25% further than without the kit.

Cleverly designed solution for anyone wanting to try the e-bike experience. Not a realistic alternative to a properly-engineered e-bike - but a good introduction. Found the handlebar-mounted battery pack affected the steering quite noticeably - due to the weight - and of course there's no "torque response" to extra pedalling effort as there would be from a proper e-bike. But, for the money, it's pretty good.
