This was my first time ordering by Takealot and Im so dissapointed. I ordered a perfume only for Takealot to send me stickers can you believe this. It already showed me the poor standards that this company go by and just like that I will maybe never order again from them.

On an order of 4 items 2 were incorrect. I ordered a Paw Patrol Taking Chase plushie for my son's birthday and what I received was a cheap knock-off. It is nightmare inducing! It cannot talk like advertised. It looks more like a Chihuahua than an Alsatian. My son would be traumitised if I had to give him this monstrosity! I also ordered a balance bike for him in green and brown and they delivered the wrong colour! Its black. If I wanted a black bike, I would have ordered a black bike! They are easy to complain about Temu and Shein undercutting them but Takealot cannot even get a simple order correct! I have never had ANY problems with my Shein & Temu orders. Will not order from Takealot again.

Takealot has launched a subscription service and ever since then their orders take up to 3 weeks to be delivered. Even if it says 3-5 days for delivery after payment an email will be sent confirming your order with a delivery date that's 2 weeks or 3 weeks from date of payment. It almost a scam what they are doing

Criminal drivers, packages get stolen now and you are less likely to receive any help.. Used the app for years, now they just hire anyone (criminals).. If you don't believe me search for any email or phone number to report a scam, fraud or theft... You won't find any.. Hence the drivers get away with it.

We bought a Samsung Fold 5 in November 2023. Worked very well but in June 2024 the screen lifted where the fold is. This is obviously an fault with the phone. There is no damage to the phone, the screen just lifted because of the fold, and now it doesnt work. It has a 2 year warranty. It was returned to takealot and email after email go unanswered. I did not expect this from them. All emails go unanswered. We have always used takealot because of the service but after this, we will not use them again and the more reviews I read the more I see that I am not the only one being ignored. MRRN-GVRN4-B9QM

On 9 May 2024 I ordered coffee beans and ribbons from takealot.. The coffee beans is a non-returnable item. I paid R958 for the coffee. Instead of delivering coffee beans and ribbons, takealot delivered dog collars to my house. I logged a return and returned the dog collars, and takealot send the ribbons, but never the coffee beans. Since the one item I purchased was "non returnable" they took the money and there is no way to get it back. I contacted them many times on the customer care link, but they NEVER get back to a person. There is no phone number or live chat option anymore - customers are at their mercy and if they don't call you back, you simply have no recourse. On the website there is no way to even follow up or check on the tickets I logged. There is no way to contact management!

Disgusted with Takealot return service ! I ordered an expensive cellphone case and unfortunately ordered it for the wrong cellphone make. When the item arrived it was already opened with the seals and packaging in poor condition. When wanting to return the item they have declined the return due to opened seals on the box which is how we received it! They refuse to refund me, credit my account and have not returned the item either. So they have essentially taken my money without actually providing anything in return. I also had to phone the call center to find out why the return could possibly have been declined as no follow up email was sent to me regarding this.

When I ordered online, it stated that collection next day I get there, nothing but in 3 days I'm unhappy They must be aware of Amazon's interest in SA, gone will be their numbers

I ordered a few items. One of the items was missing from the package and I logged this with Takealot. I was told they would investigate and revert. Now 3 weeks later, no update or response back when I query the status of the complaint and replacement of the missing item. Takealot | Return Status Update | MRRN-8568D-GZWE

Shocking client service. I bought an iPhone 13 pro on takealot. The camera lens fell out within the first month - I returned the phone seeking a new phone. The return was declined and I received phots of a damaged and cracked phone. I sent 10 emails, made telephone calls and explained that I deny damaging that phone. - if I had damaged it I would have simply claimed through my insurance., which now I cannot as I did not damage the phone. I asked in each mail that someone should contact me on my cellphone - no one did. I was left with one liner replies and a quotation of the return policy. I expected better from takealot and I am not satisfied with how they dealt with the matter. I refuse to accept that damaged phone. Shocking client service.

Return reference MRRN-H6ZG8-VMGE, The product was a Mastella 3 in 1 baby swing. It stopped working while still under warranty. The coloured front desk guy with the tattoos and silver teeth kept blaming me for not logging the return even after I had told him that I logged it on my laptop on their website twice and it was not captured. This person does not no how to talk to people and kept escalating the situation, kept telling me I did not log the return. I told him I can show him the screenshot if he wants it and he didn't, just said I didn't do it. I asked what bearing does this have now? What will arguing over it achieve? He seemed to finally calm down and help me log the return on my takealot app. When the item was returned, takealot said I damaged it, that there's visible damage (there isn't any). I asked for pictures of this "visible damage" after which they changed their tune and said it should've been returned within 7 days if it was defective, that the product was 120 days old and asked for an address to send it back to. After which I notified them that the warranty is 6 months on the product and again asked for for pictures of the visible damage to be sent to me, and I gave them my address for return of the product. The person handling my returns just responded asking for the address again, meaning they did read my email properly. It was all good with takealot for the better part of a decade until it was the first time I ever tried to return a faulty product. Where are the pictures of the damage? What about the warranty? The handlers of my case were Tsakani V and Luchulumanco M. Never again will I use takealot. No accountability, not willing to listen to the customer.

Reported to the CGSO for bad business practice. We purchased a Toshiba washing machine a year ago and the drum belt snapped last month. We sent it in for repairs (MRRN-J7PBB-VEJ6) and, after much back and forth for thirty days, have now been told that a refund has been granted instead of a replacement. They have done this because they know the machine now costs twice as much! Disgusting service!

Cant wait but we love taking your money I am one that spend - over spend at takealot and today a got call from the office not even the driver that they are at my home i ask to wait 10 min as we on our way back (fetching kid from school) - firstly she puts down the phone in my ear - then they left thats just rude as f&*! - i did call back and cancel this i mean are you serouis are you going to miss 10 min - must have been missing lunch then - this is horrble service - rude service! lindy K | 29 Jan 2024

I want to start off this review by saying I have supported "Kalahari" before Takealot. (that's been a while) I have continued supporting Takealot through all the years till now, the straw that broke the camels back. Over the holidays, I ordered covers, cases and screen protectors for my new Iphone. I planned it so my phone(ordered with a different supplier) and the Takealot order would be delivered SAME DAY (28 December 2023) so I wouldn't have to leave my new phone unprotected. The phone came on the 28th, and Takealot - a no show. I had to reach out because Takealot customer service is non existent only to eventually receive a reply that my order will "unfortunately" only be delivered on the 29th. I lost my temper as this is the second time in a row Takealot has failed to deliver on time and now I had to have a very expensive phone without any protection. If I knew this prior, I would have bought elsewhere as Takealot is so unreliable nowadays anyways. My order finally came on the 29th - both screen protectors - cracked. I immediately logged a return and REPLACEMENT. At this point I was so irritated. Now the whole process was being prolonged and I had to sort out their incompetency. I spoke to numerous Takealot agents(Tamara.M , Sizakele.M & Babalwa) and none of them have been useful. I asked to speak to the manager on duty as I knew they were probably skeleton staffed as none of these agents were handling the situation in a sincere manor, all I got was these "automated" "we are so sorry for any inconvenience caused" nonsense replies and not ONE of these agents acknowledge to escalate my query as I asked over and over again. I logged into my Takealot account, saw a small credit only for the cracked screen protectors & if you shop on Takealot regularly you'll know that above R500 is free delivery. If I where to re-order the same protectors I'd have to pay for delivery, for a mistake that wasn't even my fault & I clearly asked for a replacement as seen on the user portal. I continued emailing these amazing agents, one of the agents assisting me at that time, said they would arrange a replacement to which I responded immediately(07th of January 2024) and asked to select my work address under the address as I am NO LONGER AT HOME AND WILL BE RETURNING TO WORK ON THE 08th of January 2024. Fast forward to the next day January 8th 2024, I receive an automated email that my order was created and will be delivered by the 10th of January 2024 (these people after messing up left right and center cant even do priority delivery for the shlep they created) only to see that my address has not been updated, It is set to be delivered to my home address after I had a discussion with these agents. AFTER the order was created, I got an email from Babalwa saying "it's too late and the delivery address can't be changed now" - SO whose fault is this? As far as my knowledge & IQ goes, I spoke to an agent the day before the order was created. A day later they still managed to mess it up. I AM OVER THIS USELESS COMPANY. They are focusing on what feels like mass production, less that customer satisfaction. If they keep on like this, they might not have such a bright future. Horrible experience, I have given them chances, time and time again and this was the last chance. Their quality of products has deteriorated, their quality of service is useless, their morals and ethics has gone out the window. Why would you spend your hard earned money at this company? There is places out there who are smaller companies, and prosper for great customer service & satisfaction. Makes no sense why people would continue religiously supporting Takealot. CHEERS TAKEALOT, it has been AWFUL.

On the 18th of December I ordered 10 items, obe of which was a packagae deal containing a phone, a phone cover and a screen protecor. The screen protector was delivered cracked and I logged a return on the 19th of December. The screen protector was then collected the following day. I was then told that I have two return all items which I politely declined as it would be an inconvenience because I was already using the phone. I then requested they return the screen proctector as it was because at the end of the day I paid for it. I have been told so many stories about one simple item since then. I have been contacted by Sinovuyo, Michael, Mivuyo and Tamsyn and being told the item will be delivered. How does it take TWO WEEKS to deliver an item they claim was with the courier when I was told over a week ago that the item has been prepped. I quote: "This is to confirm that the item has been prepped and for the courier to collect at the warehouse, you will receive a call from the courier to confirm delivery." Its been over a week. It took ONE day to collect the item but two weeks have gone by and it hasn't been returned. This is not even about the item anymore. Its about the insult to my inteligence and lack of correspondense. Just days ago I was told the item is on its way to me. I asked for a time... Then boom, I'm told it will arrive on Saturday which I know is bull**** because I was already told the item is on its way. Not only that, I had to send multple emails just to get a response. I had to log another return AND lodge another complaint just to get assistance which I still haven't recieved all due to an item I recived that was defective IN THE FISRT PLACE. Make it make sense. The service is really questionable and what's even more appaling is that four people have failed to have a simple screen protoctor delivered in two weeks yet they managed to mistankely arrange for a driver to collect the item TWICE when it had ALREADY been collected. I literally had to then tell them NO ITEM NEEDS TO BE COLLECTED AND THAT I AM WAITING FOR MY ITEM TO BE DELIVERED> Make it make sense. As I type this I just sent ANOTHER EMAIL deteiling that I am waiting for a DELIVERY not a ****** collection. I pay for an item, its delivered broken, I log a return, the collect the ite, tell me I have to return all items, I decline, they agree to return it and I then havce to chase them for two weeks for an item delievered to me broken in the first place????? Then I'm sent from pillar to post and told a pile of bull**** in the interim? To top it off I have to send like five emails just to get an email with more lies or things that don';t make sense? Definitely done with takealot after this and this isn't about the item, its the service and principle, or in this case LACK THEREOF. This complaint is in reference to return ref: MRRN-5A6GW-MYVG

So Takealot delivered my parcel to my house and it was signed for by Chrstine. Problem is there is no Christine here and I had to go find which neighbour if any had my parcel. Well done Takealot
