“I purchased a website template and customization service from TemplateMonster on 26 January 2026 for $209 AUD for my business website.
The service description indicated that the website customization would be completed within 7–10 days.
Unfortunately, that timeline was nowhere near accurate.
The process dragged on for over a month and required more than 39 email exchanges with the support representative handling the customization. This was simply to get a basic single-page website set up with the content, images, and structure that had already been clearly provided.
Throughout the process I repeatedly had to:
Follow up on progress
Clarify instructions that had already been provided
Request corrections to elements that should have been implemented correctly the first time
Even after all this back-and-forth, the website still was not properly completed, and I was then informed that any further edits would now incur additional charges.
After waiting far beyond the advertised delivery timeframe and spending weeks trying to get basic elements implemented correctly, being told that further changes would be billed was extremely frustrating.
For a service that was marketed as a straightforward website template customization, the experience was slow, inefficient, and far below what I would consider professional service.
Based on my experience:
The 7–10 day delivery claim was not met
The process required excessive communication just to achieve basic progress
The project was not fully completed despite the extended timeframe
I would strongly advise anyone considering this service to carefully evaluate whether it meets their expectations before purchasing.”
“I was completely overwhelmed before contacting Michael and team, but they immediately brought clarity and professionalism to my situation. They were patient, understanding, and truly committed to helping me find a solution. Every question I had was answered honestly, and I never felt alone in the process. Their support made a huge difference, and I’d highly recommend them to anyone needing real assistance.”
“Low-quality code with numerous bugs and performance issues.
The worst support I've ever experienced - no responses to critical issues.
Not recommended.”
“This is an unreliable company. After you pay with PayPal or Stripe, they ask you to send a high-resolution photo of your credit card. Yes, they say to hide the middle part of the number, but still, sending any part of the credit card through an unsecure channel violates PCI-DSS and Florida regulations (they were incorporated there). I have no idea how they will use this photo later, I assume they can try to proof identity with it or something like this, especially today, whn it's too easy to merge two photos using AI”
“I purchased a theme from TemplateMonster, and after the six-month support period expired, the theme started having compatibility issues with Elementor. The page builder stopped functioning properly because the theme was no longer up to date. I contacted the theme author, who promptly fixed the issue, but they informed me that TemplateMonster was taking a long time to approve the update that would resolve the bug and restore full functionality.
When I reached out to TemplateMonster support, they claimed that the update had been released on January 30th, 2025. However, I never received any email notification about this, nor did my account dashboard reflect any new status, update, or release information in any way. I had been waiting for weeks, unable to work on my website, all because TemplateMonster failed to communicate transparently.
I raised my concerns with their support team about the lack of transparency, only to have many of my questions ignored. Instead, they told me that my support had expired and that I would need to renew it for $77. However, it is not my responsibility to pay for an update that should be made available to all customers, regardless of support status.
TemplateMonster’s handling of this situation feels dishonest and misleading. Their lack of communication and refusal to address a critical issue shows a complete disregard for their customers. This was my first purchase from them, and I deeply regret it. I will never buy from TemplateMonster again—this experience has been frustrating, disappointing, and a complete waste of time and money. Their customer support is terrible, and their platform lacks basic transparency regarding updates.”
“The worse support ever! Site was working fine for a few months until I got a notification to renew license. It somehow disappeared and upon reentering the purchase code, was told it is not valid! So I contacted TM support and was hand balled from one support to the other like a football game! Then I was told I have to renew support to get help from the author. This is how they keep making money from you. Not helpful at all when You have traffic and making sales only for everything to come to an abrupt halt! I will certainly look for a better plan with a PROFESSONAL template company.”

“I bought the Corzo template and after many days and hours, you need to be a fulltime coder to use it. So much for getting a "template". They are not what they used to be. So I contacted support and look into the $199 addition support to help me get my site done. Phil the tech support told me it will be another $500 to this. So frustrating. I can't afford a web designer but truly buying a template isn't the way to go either.”
“I bought a template, and when I came to download it, my AVG antivirus stopped the download and reported a virus. This happened twice, so I contacted Template Monster. I have been told that the only way to get a refund is to ask the author of the template for help and allow them to access the server and system I am having problems with so they can fix it. So instead of them hacking into my system I am to let them in. Ridiculous. Avoid this company.”
“Buyer beware!!! I bought the Lawsuit clothing theme from them and had issues from the start. I noticed when buying the theme, that you could pay more to have them install it. This should have been a red flag. The theme had and old and incomplete walk through. I immediately asked for a refund, within the first week. They provided a new and updated walk through, but when I un-installed and re-installed, none of the theme required plugins installed. I searched for them on the wordpress plugin store, but they were not available. So again, I asked for a refund. I was told their "compliance team" was able to install the theme correctly. All this happened in less than 30 days. It seems like Templatemonster cares more for their pocketbook than they do for their customers.”
“We purchase the Elecgreen theme from this Template Monster, as Elecgreen does not mentioned it can not support some function of Elementor, so we can not use this theme any more. As we purchased within 14 days, we asked for a refund, but Template Monster refuse to refund with their reason is that we already downloaded the theme.
Most theme vendors on this site are small makers, ThemeMonster do not provide refund even you can not use the theme because of problems from the maker, you have to pay attention.”
“These muppets just tried to scam me by charging me twice for the same template. I paid and then was testing it on a new site which was then abandoned and wanted to use it on the new domain so they told me to pay again.
That is so dishonest and fraudulent.
Avoid these people and use respected services who won't try to scam you.”
“TemplateMonster is prone to providing misleading information, with chat representatives resorting to dishonest tactics to encourage placing an order. Unfortunately, post-purchase support is lacking, leaving customers without assistance. Additionally, the company charges for installing apps that are readily available for self-download from the app store. When questioned, the chat representative claimed exclusivity, implying these apps couldn't be obtained from the app store, adding to the overall perception of the company engaging in questionable practices and prioritizing financial gains over customer satisfaction.”
“Its a scam. I paid for it and received something stupid - totally unrelated stuff. And there is no one from Template Monster to even reply to your queries.
I got scammed by below theme:
Pandora - Jewelry Shopify Theme | Minimalist & Clean Shopify jewellery Theme | Shopify OS 2.0

“i purchased a lot of plates from this people, is always an issue and is always someone else fault, they installed a plate on my domain after i paid for installation, the installation went down and they said is a problem with my host, after they inspect it they saw everything was missing from the file system, this people are a joke, im still waiting for my plate to be finish again and now they ignore me, is how this place does business, scare to see they still in business
stay away from them find another source for plates”
“These five* reviews are soo FAKE. You could have put a bit more effort in ...
As for my experience: I bought a template with support included. Support wasn't delivered, and the template was discontinued. So far, so good as I should have received a refund or at least a credit. But the saga which started then is just too tedious and designed to delay and prevent a refund/credit. In the process, creating a very frustrated customer (who paid a few hundred $ for templates in the past!). Dodgy”
“Do NOT waste your time on Template Monster. Shocked that Trustpilot refused to remove the THOUSANDS of fake reviews for them -- half of them use the same verbiage.
Creators, beware -- stay away from TemplateMonster unless you like wasting your own time. I sell over 100+ digital templates online and decided to give them a try (which was a huge mistake):
Their review process is incredibly slow, inconvenient, and nonsensical:
It takes over two weeks to receive any response after you first submit your products. The response is almost always to reject for nonsensical reasons like "wrong category'"(ie. they rejected a mockup bundle I submitted to the "Product Mockup" category saying it should go in "Graphics", which makes no sense).
Rather than simply changing the category of the existing submission, the TemplateMonster system requires that you completely re-submit products (filling out 15+ fields again) and gives you no place to copy my previous submission. This kind of UX design is blatantly disrespectful of creators' time and efforts.
When I reached out to TemplateMonster support about this onerous submission process, they responded by just confirming this was the only option:
"Unfortunately, if your products were rejected with the reason 'Resubmit the product to another category' you should upload it from scratch as there is no possible change the category. "
Rejected products show up as big red blocks that you cannot click, dismiss, or edit in your dashboard.
Don't waste your time with Template Monster; there are many far superior alternatives for online creative marketplaces.”
