We have ordered hundreds of these panels over the years for various installs and for personal use. Recently we ordered a couple dozen panels and were short some mounting hardware. I called a couple times and talked to a very rude rep, who at one time sounded as though he was going to charge me for the hardware that was missing. Reluctantly he said "Ya, I will get them out to you.". Weeks later, nothing. I was very disappointed, especially with as many panels as we just purchased. Today, I called again as the panels were still sitting on the floor. I talked with Darius Smith, who was apologetic for the previous rude customer service person, and within minutes had a tracking number with the missing hardware on the way. Owning a small business myself, I know mistakes happen all the time. That is fine. What is not excusable is rude customer service. Darius was fantastic and he literally just saved Acoustimac from being crossed off our vendor list. Thank you Darius! You are a credit to your team.

The panel came and works as intended. The interaction with the company was not unfriendly but not particularly friendly either. Also, no shipping flexibility options.

These parts are exactly what I needed. I would have given a 5-Star review, but the shipping was a little spendy. The shipping was as expensive as the parts ($55 vs $55). BUT, the parts shipped quickly and arrived when they said they would, so I am okay paying for shipping when I get what I need when I need it. The parts themselves work well. I am using them in some "home-made" acoustic panels made from Owens-Corning 705 insulation bats (semi-rigid) with a thin weed-blocker material on the top, and my decorative material on the other 5 sides. I cut a 1-inch slit in the weed-blocker material, and then work the screw part of the Acoustimatic fitting under the material and slowly press it down as I screw it into the insulation material. You can feel the fitting begin to bite into the insulation material and cut its way down until the top of the fitting bottoms out. I am putting 4 of these fittings on each 4 ft x 2 ft insulation batt and this feels like plenty of support to hold up the panel. I got my ideas from YouTube videos, and they recommended using these fittings, and I have to agree with their recommendation. I would recommend these also.

We ordered 5 Acoustimac panels. They arrived well packaged, and in good condition. They are on the wall in our kitchen, hallway, and parlor, and we are pleasantly surprised they have made a noticeable difference with noise reduction.

The quality of the print was poor, but the frame that the print was stretched over was not 4’x4’. It bowed out on one side by over 1/4”. Also it was supposed to be finished size of 2” in depth, but it came in at 2 1/2 “. I can not even get a floating frame to fit it

We've gotten a number of custom acoustimac panels and they are just stunning. We provided images and the panels are very high quality. And just lovely. The panels have greatly reduced the echo in our living room.

I've looked around for years, dreading treating my room because I knew it meant removing most of my studio equipment and furniture before I could put panels where I wanted them. I've had my studio such as it is since 2010, and I invariably get tired of the arrangement and go through a massive reorganization every few years. I finally determined that my original arrangement when I first got some equipment was not perfect, but everything was in close approximation of where 15 years later I wanted everything. Time to order acoustical panels. I've had my eye on AcoustiMac for many years. I ordered samples of their materials at least five years ago, and had my three top choices painter taped to the wall since then. When it was time to order panels, I couldn't find a better company than AcoustiMac when it came to variety of materials, flexibility of design, customization, and pricing and delivery. I initially ordered four bass traps, each 12 inches wide 4 inches deep and 48 inches tall. I also ordered eight wall panels, 24 inches wide by 48 inches tall and 2 inches deep. The bass traps went into the corners in the front of the room. Along the wall. between the two bass traps, but next to the bass trap on the left, is my 15 inch Revel subwoofer. The bass traps are stacked which required me to cut off the floorboard trim, which was an oversight on my part in that I could've ordered the bottom sets at 44 inches tall so that they would clear the trim pieces, but that's on me. Due to the angles, you can't see my amateurish carpenter work. I placed three of the wall panels on the left and right walls, using a large mirror to determine the reflection point of my studio speakers to determine where the front most panel would go. The remaining two on each side or staggered 18 inches apart from the first. I also placed a 2' x 4' wall panel behind each of my studio speakers, which are Revel Ultima2 Gem2 speakers which have their own fixed stands. The three-way speaker tweeter is top most and at year level of my desk chair. The sound quality definitely improved. Once this was done, however, I did sense a little bit of slap echo still coming from the ceiling and wall junctures. To help curb that I placed the second order four 12" x 36" x 2" wall panels with two to be placed above the door on the front wall at ceiling height, and two behind me at ceiling height where the room ceiling drops from 8 foot to 7 foot. This tremendously improved the sound and significantly reduced slap echo in the room. One further step I took to improve the sound, and it did so as dramatically, if not more dramatically than adding acoustical treatment, was calibrating my speakers to the room using SoundWorks Reference ID software along with their calibrated microphone. Turning the software calibration on and off is always startling, with the calibration, providing a much more solid and less phasey center image, particularly noticeable with vocals. AcoustiMac shipped there panels to me in both cases within about two weeks. Everything came perfectly packaged. While I had considered less permanent ways of mounting them to the walls so as not to damage the walls, in the end, I went for permanence. Using their Z metal hangers, I quickly developed a consistent and repeatable method for applying them to the back of the panels and to the walls. I made one or two mistakes, but they were hidden by the panels themselves. It is best to work with a clean surface. So I used my mixing desk, which was the only thing that had not been removed from the room. I mounted the Z pieces 6 inches from the top and bottom edges and a convenient Z piece width in from the left and right sides. Then I measured up along the wall and installed the corresponding Z pieces needed to secure the panel. My advice is to have a good straight ruler, 36 inches aluminum so it's rigid enough, a carpenter's pencil, and maybe a level in your tool kit. Also, don't frustrate yourself and if you don't have a electric drill and bit kit, make sure you get one. I highly recommend anything from Milwaukee. I tended to leave the plastic wrap on the panels while I was attaching the ze brackets so as to protect them slightly from any ripping and tearing, but my desk has a very clean glass surface, so there was little chance of that, but just bear that in mind. I will fault AcoustiMac slightly, in that installing these panels can result in some head scratching and moments of uncertainty. It would be awfully helpful if there were clear instructions, or preferably a YouTube video or two, that steps you through the proper way to measure and mount the panels. Otherwise, I'm extremely pleased with AcoustiMac's customer service and high-quality product. I cannot recommend them any higher.
