“They try to pressure you into paying a cancellation fee after they don't show up on the date they originally quoted and, when they do show up, offer you less money than was originally agreed upon over the phone.”
“was pressured on the phone to say yes for them to collect my car, agent was very forward, I woke up the next day to find they had put £20 deposit in my bank, I quickly called them and told them I've changed my mind and not scrapping car and offered to send the £20 straight back, they got angry on the phone saying I'm 'wasting time', got told they will be contacting the police and my bank to freeze my account for 'defrauding them' £20, was also told if I don't pay a £120 cancellation fee they will be taking my to court, will send bailiffs, and they sending me constant messages, I have informed citizens advice and waiting on some advice, avoid this scrap yard they are bullys!”

don't be deceived.
I have my whole story with them, first you call them to price your car, then another company they work with will make an appointment with you to collect the car. BMS SALVAGE will send you an e-mail how the whole process of collecting the car and paying for it is such a thing when the driver picks up your car you have to call BMS and the driver has to confirm that he is picking it up {I wonder why he can't do it himself} and then he starts the payment [the BMS company works 8am-6pm}
I made an appointment to pick up my car [the next available date was after 8 days] I took the day off from work, I was at home all day and the driver called me at 6:20pm saying he would be there in an hour
here is a deliberate scam of the BMS SALVAGE company that arranges with the company that picks up the car to pick up your car after 6pm when the office is closed so that you can't contact them not to pay you.
so I said you can't take the car today and I waited for contact from BMS SALVAGE.
after 7 days I got an email from them that I canceled the collection of the car and I owe them £120
if you don't want to have problems just find another company, that's all true
I will never use this company again and I advise you not to either
