“Edward Bulmer's paints were a delight to use both in application and the absence of any strong odours - the clean-up was also easy. My first time using the brand, I took the plunge with Invisible Green / Pea Green / Milk White in a north facing principal bedroom and was delighted with the result. My daughter was looking for a softer, neutral shade for a south facing room and is really pleased with the varied tonal shades of Jonquil on her walls and woodwork. Our sitting room was refreshed with Welmish Blue and Pearl. Great depth and warmth to all the colours, highly recommend.”

“Love this paint! All the colours are absolutely beautiful, and change depending on the time of day (so important, I think, when using colour, and just not possible to replicate with a colour match). We have a lot of beams and fiddly areas as it’s an old house and so it was really important to us (and our decorators!) that the paint went on easily, which it did, and mostly only needed two coats to give a really good finish. I also did the colour consultation which really helped narrow down the colours and the team have been so helpful since whether it’s a query about whether I needed primer for the woodwork (no) or I’ve accidentally ordered the wrong amount, please could I change it (yes!) I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this company-it feels like a small, family business and everyone seems passionate about it-a delight!”

“I was really impressed by the Colour Consultancy service offered by Edward Bulmer. It was easy to arrange and upload the photo’s and my appointment was scheduled within 2 days. Lena suggested various colours and combinations that I wouldn’t have thought of and gave me some useful pointers before making my final choices. I would definitely recommend this service.”

“We really love Edward Bulmer paint. It comes in a range of really interesting colours, and it is by far the best paint on the market as far as we are concerned. Not only is the paint lovely to apply (it feels like silky cream) but it is good for the planet and price wise compares well to all the other eco paint brands. We have had lots of lovely compliments about our paint colours and have found their customer service to be excellent.”

“Excellent consultation with Lena. It was so good to discuss colours and hear suggestions. I have been struggling with colours for bedroom but chatting it through was a great help. Suggestions, in the form of colour cards, arrived promptly and are now on the walls so a choice can be made. Highly recommend you take advantage of a consultation.”

“I booked a half hour colour consultancy for one room and thought this was so helpful. Claire was lovely and gave some colour ideas based on colours I had been thinking of (but with different undertones) and then suggested looking at a couple I hadn't considered. I've now ordered a couple of tester pots having been able to narrow down colour and shade and 10% discount was quickly applied and samples have been despatched very swiftly. Really impressed with the service provided.”

“I came across this service after taking Edward Bulmer's course on Pigments, Paints and Palettes in Create Academy's online courses. It is so well done and his delivery is so calm and easy to understand. I learned a great deal but wanted to speak with someone before actually spending a lot of money to paint our house. Regarding the consulting session itself; if only every interior design service was this clear, concise, friendly and empowering! Claire was completely lovely and not only helped me pick paint colors for specific rooms (including trim and ceiling colors) but she also explained how they might play into a larger scheme. She asked great questions to learn about us and our color preferences (in this case our boys for their bedrooms) but she also had definite advice. I didn't walk away with a nebulous "you could go a lot of different ways!" but rather a plan and specific colors. Also, I miscalculated the time difference for our appointment not once but twice (I'm in the states) and she could not have been kinder about what was certainly my error. Regardless of where you live, I can recommend this service without reservation. While we can't currently get Edward Bulmer paints here in the States (hopefully soon), the consultant will send you a guide so your local paint shop can color match the paints recommended. One can obviously get paint color advice from a million different sources but an Edward Bulmer consultancy is the best of the best. You'll be getting advice from someone who not only understands color theory but also architectural and design history and practical matters. You will walk away with paint colors that are nuanced, considerate of the context, that reflect your taste and that are beautiful. Somehow Claire did all that while being incredibly friendly, clear and helpful. She also sent me typed (completely thorough) notes from our session so I could focus and enjoy the session. I will definitely be using this service again and will recommend to my family and friends. Thank you, Claire! What a fantastic company.”

“Having struggled for weeks with the colour for the walls of the newly renovated sitting room (including ordering five samples, all fails), I booked a colour consultation. I explained to Lena what I was looking for, showed her a fabric sample, and she nailed it first time round (Silver White). We spent the rest of the consultation talking about muted pinks for a future project, as well as our shared Scandinavian heritage - it was like chatting to a friend with great taste and an irritatingly good eye for colour!”
