“I was first made aware of the Awareness in Spectator Safety Course during the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games where I was Safety Officer for the Alexander Stadium. I am the Head of Safety and Security at Ashton Gate in Bristol and this course has been invaluable to our new stewards to allow them to understand their role as a foundation for their Level 2 Certificate. It gives the stewards time to work at home in their own time and gives a great basic knowledge before being placed in the stadium environment with mentors.”
