“Purchased Desire seed potatoes and these are definitely NOT seed potato quality had to throw away quite a few due to their size ( I'd call them bools ) You should be ashamed of the quality of this product”

“Received 20 kg of seed potatoes. Most were of a very small size. About 1/4 egg size. Not very good grading. I feel I’ve been fobbed off with the dregs.”

“Very disappointed with the Maris Piper seed pots - expected a premium seed potato , got what was left in teh bottom of the bag. Picture makes them look better than they were.”

“Received the 20 free packets of seeds you advertised.I appreciate these were called random packs but i have received only 5 different selections. one tomato,two cress,four chives,four dahlia, and TEN Parsley (theses would keep me going for 20 years). I feel this is totally unreasonable , especially with the £7.14 postage charge. I suppose that this is what you get when you think you are getting a deal, but really you are being ripped off. Especially with out of date stock ( which i knew about) but i am never going to plant this many seeds all of the same type. Would not use this company again, they did not even reply to my email about the complaint”

“After planting my snowdrops around a tree with the remainder in planters only 4 grew this is a very poor result. Will not reorder again. Thanks.”

“Products are excellent. 5 stars, Delivery 1 star, was to be via rear vehicle access if we were in. Inside Front porch if we were out. Delivery, even though someone was in, was left outside on front door step. We are both disabled so can not answer the door very quickly.”

“I paid £8 for home delivery but the parcel went directly to DPD collection point which is 10 min walk from my house. So i just couldn’t collect a 30 L bag with soil and it was automatically sent back. Next time I’ll order on Amazon”

“NOT WHAT I ORDERED. I bought seed potatoes to grow for our local food bank on our allotment. I ordered Maris Piper and Charlotte seed potatoes. On harvesting all the potatoes were red, obviously not what I ordered. I spoke on two occasions to Customer services who asked for photographs, which I sent but twice they claimed not to have received the images. Will not use again and very disappointed. Julie Davison”

“Failed to deliver my item next day despite their advertising to order before 2pm for next day delivery and paying extra for same. Item took 3 days to arrive so substantially late for a birthday gift. Had trouble with website so ordered by phone with a person whose customer service skills were lacking . I have lodged a complaint re the delivery and received a prompt apology and refund of postage”

“Decided to revise my review. Worse than originally posted. When cooked these 'potatoes' go to complete mush and have no taste whatsoever. Will be ripping up the entire crop now and they will go in the bin. Would compost them but don't want this rubbish contaminating my veg patch. Avoid. Complete rubbish.”

Hi, We are sorry to hear you have had trouble growing Pentland Javelin potatoes. Unfortunately due to weather conditions this year that has been the case for some growers across the UK. We recommend the seed be kept in the ground longer to see further growth as this variety can be kept in the ground safely throughout Second Early and even in to early Main Crop timeframes. While our seed stock is top quality and health checked thoroughly to give you the best crop, we cannot account for the weather or growing conditions. If the seed has successfully grown new potatoes but they just aren't big or numerous enough yet then everything is fine and healthy with the seed, they just need a bit longer and better weather. Feel free to give us a call for any advice now or throughout any future growing seasons and we are always happy to help.

“Poor delivery service. I was waiting my parcel the day promised by delivery company, started my gardening job with hope that it came that day. Soon I received email that 'delivery failed because noone home'. I was shocked because was waiting in the front garden. As a result, just wasted much time for vain waiting and calls to company with clarifications. I was told that driver was in wrong address, but this was not my fault. Finally, got my parcel day after left in the garden; was not satisfied at all of no any apologies. Asked the shop to return me transport fees back, but they told that everything was done in time(”
