About Jaques of London:
In 1795 Thomas Jaques took on his 15-year-old son, John as an apprentice. Together they established ‘Thomas Jaques: Manufacturer of Ivory, Hardwoods, Bone and Tunbridge Ware’ in Hatton Garden. We have remained a family run business ever since, with the same unwavering passion for quality games and toys.

Today we are ever-expanding our toy range and have been honoured with over 10 awards in the past five years as a result. Our Mini Minds Hub launched in 2020 to encourage learning at home. This is now stocked with over 150 free resources. We’ve been working for over 230 years to fill the world with more joy and we hope to keep striving for that goal long into the future. “The whole experience from browsing to receiving the item was excellent, looking for good old fashioned snakes and ladders. Found an excellent quality board, with ludo on the reverse ! Again, the quality of the parts was excellent, in a very good storage bag. Very much recommended.”

“I would certainly recommend Jaques of London. I ordered a wooden game for my young grandchildren. It was top quality but it did have a minor problem. My communication with Jaques was easy and seamless and it was handled exceptionally well and promptly. My son and daughter-in-law were impressed.”

“I began buying toys from Jaques of London about 18 months ago for my small grandson and return frequently to the site. The great deals are an attraction of course but really it is the wonderful quality of traditional toys and games which keeps me returning. I usually but far more than I had intended to, but that means able to distribute presents throughout the year. I’ve also given Jaques toys to other children in the extended family and close friends of my young grandson who have birthdays etc. we are always delighted by the appearance and quality and personalised nature of the packaging. Thanks so much - we’ll be back!”

“I have purchased a couple of times from Jaques and each time the products have arrived within the designated time and very well wrapped. I was unable to see what the products were like before I gave them as gifts as they were beautifully wrapped in a Jaques box with ribbon and I did not want to mess this up! I have subsequently seen one of the gifts and am delighted with the quality. The recipient loved showing it to me and playing with it. Thank you Jaques.”
