“This company has given me the most stress and heartache I’ve had to endure! It’s hard to believe that they want customers to stay with them. Especially since they send cancellation threats after every issue! They also initially said that they don’t charge a cancellation fee in their policy info. Now suddenly a fee is being charged.
In addition to this. They required a proof of address.. I supplied it. Then they came back to say that it is not acceptable (even though it’s listed as an acceptable document). They rejected 3 proof of addresses initially.
After sorting the issue, I moved houses a few months later. They then tell me that I need to pay an additional £500 or have my policy cancelled.
Despite the fact that the country is under lockdown and people are struggling as it is.
There is actually a lot more to the story that might turn this into a novel.

“I've had extremely bad experience with this provider, if you are insuring a Tesla or other electric car, be aware, they request you to install a Thatham Category 5 device speficially, but they don't say this at policy inception and only tells you days after you thought your policy has started!
This practice has brought us various issues. 1) the thatham device is expensive to fit (esp during Covid it's quite difficult to arrange fitting slots) and completely unnecesary - we have obtained a written letter from Tesla stating that their built in tracker meets the Thatham Category 5 requirement and in fact is better than it, this has satisfied all the other insurers, but not Marshmallow! 2) We thought our policy has started so did not find alternative insurers, to get a replacement with immediate effect is a lot more expensive than if it was bought before hand! We bought this Marshmallow policy a week before we got the car and thought everything was sorted, Marshmallow only got back to us with this issue days after the policy commenced causing us unnecessary stress and expense, what were they doing before?!!! 3) I don't yet know whether there are cancellation charges, I'm still waiting to hear back from them!”

“I Just arrived back in the UK after 25 years in America.
It took a while to get myself established as I had no footprint or credit score in UK. Marshmallow required different types of ID and other proofs but kept me insured during the ID process.
Now I have British ID and a footprint so all is cool.
Good insurance, good rates, I am happy with this company Marshmallow for my Car insurance.”
“The initial policy did say any vehicle switch wouldn't incur additional or penalty charges. I switch a different vehicle of lower value to the original vehicle and was charged for the switch.”
