“I like the actual unit very much and it's perfect for our bathroom. Unfortunately, the fixing kit was missing when it arrived. The fixing kit was supplied promptly when I requested it from Pebble Grey. Once installed by my fitter it has developed an intermittent fault whereby the lights and shaving socket stop working. During fault finding by my electrician it started working again. Makes us think there's a loose connection but none was found. Since it had no fixing kit it make me think it may have been a faulty returned unit that was sent out again. I will now open a case with the Service team, as I expect the unit will fail again soon.”
“Wasn't happy with the product. The mirror sensor doesn't work well. Takes a lot of wafting hands to get it to turn on or off. So don't bother with the light now and just use as mirror”
“Disappointed that return time wasnt extended over the christmas period. Having bought a mirror as a christmas present, it went over on the 14 day policy and when asked if I could exchange it, it was pointed out to me that if you return goods after 14 days, they would not be refunded.”
“Update - Having received Pebble Grey's reply to my review I have to say I disagree. The images on the website only show the lower section of the mirror from the side when the LED's are illuminated. They do not show the cable tie as it is located higher up, nor do they show what the LED strip looks like unilluminated and it is this that is unattractive. The mirror was to be situated on a side wall in our bathroom which meant that the LED strip located externally around the side of the mirror and the cable tie holding it in place would have been highly visible upon walking into our new bathroom. This would have been very unsightly, especially when the mirror was not illuminated and therefore not the look we were looking for at all. Would be fine on an end wall where you can’t see down either side”
“Nimbus 500x700mm LED Bathroom Mirror Service from Pebble is always good but this product is a nightmare from a fitting point of view, firstly there is no cavity behind the unit for the cable to sit making it very difficult to fit on a tiled wall, I had to channel so much tile out to create a cavity for the wire to sit in, which is just loads of unnecessary dust and risk in a newly finished bathroom. Secondly the brackets are so so awkward to do on your own (which a-lot of us bathroom fitters are) the main bracket is not removable, and there is no adjustment at all. Thirdly the door is not removable which makes the cabinet super heavy to offer up on your own. Other models have a flexible cable that you can un plug and quick release door hinges which work so much better, makes it about half the weight and is also far better from a reliability point of view once fitted as the cable wont stretch over time, they also have a far better bracket system thats far more user friendly and also adjustable (Grace Bluetooth LED Bathroom Mirror) Back to the awful Nimbus cabinet- So you have to firstly hold a heavy cabinet against a wall, secondly somehow arrange the wire to sit within the wall and thirdly align your screw holes and screw the bracket in, then hope that its level. (As we all know holes can move by tiny amounts in the drilling/plugging process hence why pretty much all wall hung products have adjustability) Ive fitted many bathrooms over the years & consequently fitted many of these LED mirrors/ LED mirrored cabinets and have never had one so difficult to work with, and cannot get over how this design passed through to sale Im not one for doing reviews and will normally just get on with fitting and be done, but this particular product really wound me up because its such a collaboration of mess ups which in turn makes the fitting process extremely aggravating and time consuming. Especially when you are paying a premium price for the product, I really expected better.”
“A good looking cabinet. The electrical connection is at the rear, but the cabinet doesn’t have a recess so the connection area has to be very precise as the wire cannot be hidden at the rear of the cabinet, so has to be hidden inside the wall. Also disappointed that there is no internal light.”
“I had to return the mirror I bought 2 times to receive the third without scratches! And there was no way for them to do quality check before sending over :/ They handled all the collectuin and delivery which was a relief, but the back and forth comms, filling forms, packing and unpacking, and time wasted were not necessary”
“Arrived quickly, well packed. Fitting Instructions adequate, however, once the rear case was fitted to the (flat) wall, it was difficult to align the four fixing screws with the front case. It seems that the screws were of insufficient length to reach the tapped hole in the bracket. Using some slightly longer screws managed to complete installation. The demisting pad is not 'full' as described, approx a 100mm border is left unheated, the pad itself takes a few minutes to demist not as quick as we'd expected based on other products we'd used. Overall, good, but not excellent. The price reflects the disappointment we found in the mirrors overall performance. UPDATE - 2 years on to the date, silver on mirror part stating to discolour, e-mailed PG, no answer, wouldn't recommend...”
