“We have had a Chesterfield suite in the past they just look great but not always the most comfortable. SW James have provided us with the most comfortable Chesterfield ever. From appointment to delivery I cannot fault the service. You have a personal appointment with Warren to discuss your needs and try out all of the versions, it was very special and made you feel that you were the most important customer. The pricing was very competitive with other manufacturers but the quality shone through and we are delighted with our matching 3 seater Huxleys on honeypot legs. For us it gives the sofas a bit more height which allows easier cleaning beneath. They were comfy from day one now a month or so in we couldn't be happier with our purchase. “We have had the most wonderful experience dealing with Warren and his team at SW James. From when Warren met us at the door of the showroom, in the beautiful canal side location in Bollington, we felt were in good hands and we weren’t wrong. He didn’t rush us into placing our order and he gave us the time during our appointment to make sure we made the right decision. When you visit the showroom, you have the place to yourselves and Warren’s full attention. If I’m honest, I usually dread visiting showrooms, as I hate being made to feel I’m being constantly watched by sales staff waiting to pounce but Warren made us feel like we could take as long as needed. “I had been looking at Leather Chesterfield sofas for a while but couldn't find what I was looking for. I decided to go direct to the manufacturer and noticed SW James, I called them, I had a conversation with Warren, told him what I wanted and he sent me a brochure and various samples of beautiful Leather. I chose one design but was worried it wouldn't fit in my rather small lounge, this wasn't a problem to Warren he made the sofa on a smaller scale for me. I had weekly updates through the build process and when the final delivery arrived I was over the moon, my sofa is gorgeous!! Unlike anything I had seen before !! “We were looking to replace our Chesterfields and found S.W.James online. I rung this company and asked the lady who answered my call if they do Chesterfields made to measure to which she said she would get Warren to call me. Warren called me within 10 mins of my call. I arranged to see him the next day at their showroom. Wow it was an amazing experience! Warren made us feel very welcome, he is a very polite gentleman Showed us around the showroom and explained everything in great detail. I had my measurements with me as asked by Warren. We also wanted the Chesterfields higher than we had. He suggested behive feet. So I ordered a 3 seater and a two seater Chesterfield in antique grey with behive feet. Also said we would get updates on the Chesterfields. When we got home we decided to place an order for a desk chair too! I received an email every week regarding details on how my order was coming along. When my order was ready I received call from Warren telling me my order was ready for delivery. We were so excited! Warren also said the delivery men would call me prior to my delivery. They called me and said I would be their first drop and would call me 30mins before their arrival. Delivery men were absolutely amazing too. Removed my old Chesterfields and brought in my new ones. My Chesterfields-absolutely stunning!! And desk chair too! They took away all the wrapping too. We absolutely love our Chesterfields and the chair. Workmanship is Excellent! Warren and his team are very passionate about their excellent work. 100% recommend Warren and his team! “We came across Warren and the team at SW James via on online search. All I can is what a fantastic company that make fantastic product. We ordered a pair of their handmade Chesterfield sofas in green. Warren was great at keeping us up to date with how the sofas were coming along and we are absolutely thrilled with the final result. They are stylish and comfortable and a great addition to our house. Additionally, the customer service since we had them delivered has been truly exceptional. When the sofas arrived, they came with removable wooden feet with brass castors. Whilst they looked lovely, they made the sofas a little too high for our pair of Cavalier King Charles Spaniels to be able comfortably to jump up. When I contacted Warren to discuss this, without hesitation he offered to swap them for lower feet, and then even said that I should keep the original ones as I may want to change the look of the sofas in the future. “When dealing with certain companies, you often receive 'personalised' messages from the CEO, which are actually just marketing gimmicks written by their marketing team. With S.W. James, this is no gimmick! Warren, the founder, was the person I first spoke to about my sofa. He answered all my questions regarding the depth of seats, softness of cushions and durability of the velvet I had chosen. He was incredibly knowledgeable and couldn't do enough to help. He also kept me updated on the build and delivery of my Monty sofa. All of this wouldn't mean anything if the products didn't match the service. I'm delighted to say that their sofas are absolutely top notch. Proper British craftsmanship, hand made and built to last, my Monty sofa is the perfect centre piece of my living room! I love Chesterfield sofas and the Monty is by far and away the most comfortable Chesterfield I have ever sat in. I fully expect it to give me many years of service - as Warren made sure to tell me, S.W. James will always be on hand just in case anything untoward happens in the future. One last thing to add - real quality of service only shows when things go wrong. The delivery men struggled to get the (very substantial) sofa into my living room due to its size and the limited space between the living room door and the staircase bannister. In their efforts to lift it, they accidentally put a dent in my hallway ceiling. I let Warren know, and without hesitation he offered to cover the cost of having the ceiling repaired using my local decorator. This was done promptly and without the slightest quibble. This level of service is all but unheard of these days and proves that this is a company that takes as much pride in its customer care as it does in manufacturing high quality products. I cannot recommend them highly enough and I am now a customer for life! If you are looking for beautiful furniture that lasts a lifetime and complete peace of mind, look no further!”
“I recently received my beautiful green Monty two seater from the guys at SW James, and to say I'm impressed would be an understatement. The quality and craftsmanship really do speak for themselves. As others have noted, the entire experience was first class - and like something from yesteryear! Here is a company who genuinely treat you like a new family member - after all, their products are something that will be with you for a lifetime. From my first enquiry, speaking with Warren, to the delivery guys who had no qualms about hauling a large Chesterfield up a flight of stairs (with a turn) and even the delightful lady at the finance company; everybody with whom I had dealings was professional, polite and eager to answer any questions I had. Although I wasn't expecting it, I also received my order a few weeks early due to a cancellation - so that was a nice surprise too. To me SW James are a stand out example of the benefits of doing your research. I had started out merely wanting a couch of a certain size. Having then decided I would like a Chesterfield, I looked at a lot of companies and their reviews before deciding on SW James. I am so glad that I did - to think that high street retailers are selling mass produced furniture at comparable prices, really underlines the value you are getting in every aspect from Warren and the team - be that customer service, or the longevity and obviously superior quality of the products themselves.
