I arrived very apprehensively at the Vein centre Southampton They could not have been more welcoming and reassuring. A charming nurse looked after me and I was ultra sounded by the radiologist I now await having the Lazer procedure early August to get the veins working properly. Watch this space !

A bit disappointed as I have a very blue vein which stands out like a sore thumb and they won't do any thing about it saying it doesn't need removing. I went to get this done as it makes me so depressed. I thought that they did cosmetic procedures looks like they don't. Disappointed.

Good afternoon, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Sorry to hear that you feel disappointed following your consultation and that your vein is causing you distress. As this is an open platform, I am unable to mention specifics due to data protection. However, I am able to further explain why treatment wouldn’t be offered. We treat veins where there is an underlying cause medically, or a cosmetic factor that can be fixed. Thread veins are treated with microsclerotherapy, and varicose veins are usually treated with a combination of endovenous laser ablation and foam sclerotherapy. Our doctors perform an in depth consultation and as part of the colour duplex ultrasound scan, they check thoroughly to see whether there is any need for treatment, i.e. faulty valves inside the veins. If you have a vein that is prominent but healthy and the consultant has confirmed that the scan shows no reflux, we unfortunately are unable to offer treatment as we will not treat healthy veins. We would not want or expect our patients to pay unnecessary money for treatment that is not going to have a cosmetic or medical benefit. There is also the risk that treatment of a healthy vein could actually make the cosmetic appearance worse, due to the risk of skin staining and the formation of new thread veins. I went to the Reading Clinic for a consultation, felt very welcome from arriving at reception, the reception lady was very friendly and this made me feel very comfortable, the nurse and Doctor also put my at ease, consultation went well and have definitely decided to go ahead with treatment,

I have still not received my report even after emailing to inform the centre . I was told i Would receive it within a week. I do not consider this good service. It does not give me much faith in proceeding with the treatment at a cost of almost 3 thousand pounds! I paid the £250 consultation fee in good faith . Now here I am almost 2 weeks later with no report. Not a good service I’m afraid!

I can see that you attended for consultation on 2nd July, and I can confirm your letter was typed and posted out on 6th July, so I do apologise that you have not yet received this. I am unsure of the reason why you have not received it, it could possibly be a delay with the post that is out of our control. Professional service, from the receptionist, doctor and nurse. The doctor and nurse talked through the initial scan, the treatments I would need and asked if I had any questions too. I feel confident about the procedure that I will be having.

I attended the Veincentre in order to have a Duplex ultrasound scan of my legs, so that if successful my NHS surgery would be able to prescribe compression hosiery. My wife also attended. We were both well received and then very well cared for by our consultant Dr Patel and his nurse. The level of support was very high, and we were able to ask questions and receive clear answers. The scan produced the result that I had hoped for. We went away feeling reassured and that our whole experience had been excellent.

The veincentre were very professional except the man I spoke to at your head office who was not professional at all I allowed myself get very angry with his attitude and put the phone down. I then went to the clinic to make an appointment for my wife.

Everyone I met was extremely welcoming and caring. Dr Mathias explained the treatment clearly and ensured that I understood the risks. All steps were carried out in an efficient manner. The staff were very kind.

Overall experience has been excellent so far. Appointment was quick and only 1 month wait for surgery. Reception was very welcoming, nurse and doctor reassured me all the time and explained everything to me and answered clearly and honestly the queries I had. Looking forward to my procedure and seeing the results.
