“I ve found a really good offer through skyscanner.nl and i booked it immediately. The amound was 667 euro for little more than a month. After the booking i realised that i was not getting a reservation email. i contacted wisecars and i was told that the supplier was not confirming the booking and that they were working on to find a solution witht the supplier. A few days later i got an email saying that the booking was off anf they were offering me a counter offer with 3 times more the original amound i booked. Of course, i declined the offer. Very unpleasant experience.”
“AVOID THIS CAR RENTAL SERVICE. I made a reservation for 1 week rental and they reserved a car with OtoQ Car Rental company. After reaching Orlando, I called them for shuttle service and they made me wait for 30 mins and then eventually told me that they canceled my reservation since I was late by 20 mins and they would not refund the money either. I had to book a last minute rental from a different car company. If they had actually rented my car to someone else, they could have given me some other car or should at least issue a refund. They are not friendly and have no compassion. These guys offer lower price to get reservation and then they won’t work with you at all. They will even stop picking up your call. Save your money and rent from a national car rental company. Worst experience of my life.”
“Absolutely awful experience with these cowboys. They accept my Revolut card to book the car and pay the deposit, then when I arrive at my destination they claim that they can’t accept a “online banking institution” card and refuse to refund my money. The customer service agent was incredibly rude, refused to identify himself and was very unprofessional. I have had to chase this up several times to even get an update a week later. Book direct with the rental agencies and Avoid avoid avoid wisecars!!!”
“I rented a car online on wisecars. When I went to York car rental to pick up the car from Toronto Pearson airport, they said they would not give me a car because I did not have an international driver's license. I called and asked wisecars to refund my money. But they didn't refund my money. In Toronto, where I came as a tourist for 10 days, they are deceiving people with the lie of an international driver's license to take your money. When Alamo, national, budget, avis etc. There is no such problem in all other chains. I rented a car from Alamo and had no ıssues such as international license.”
“AVOID USING THIS SERVICE. They do not deliver on the services. They cancelled my reservation without notice and had to go to another vendor at the airport. Wisecars is a terrible rental company! Just book directly with the rental companies and avoid the headache.”
“Absolutely awful experience with Wisecars. Booked a rental car 2 months ago and when we arrived at the airport to collect it, we were advised that the booking had been cancelled. Several other customers had the same issue and Wisecars did absolutely nothing to help us, or find replacement cars. Most companies had no cars left and it was close to closing time. Ended up paying more than double for a replacement car. Not a good start to the holiday and terrible customer service from Wisecars.”
“Booked with Wisecars about 2 months before my travel for half the cost of all other rentals. As the date approached I read all the negative reviews and started freaking out. I looked into booking another car as a backup but prices had gone even higher. I got a confirmation from wisecars a day or two before my travel that gave me a Dollar rent a car confirmation. I typed the number into Dollar's website and it looked legit. I was very nervous about the whole thing, but when I got to Denver everything went about as smoothly as I could have asked. I know there are a lot of negative reviews, but I had a great experience for a great price. -- Good Luck.”
“I booked a rental car on Friday morning. Caught a flight on Friday afternoon. Arrived at the rental car agency on Friday night. I was surprised that the agency said they had no record of my reservation and asked if I had the number. I checked my email and saw that WiseCars had sent me an email, while I was on my flight, informing me that they cancelled my reservation. I called customer support where I was told that they tried to contact me, but then cancelled the reservation since they never heard back from them. I informed them that I never received a call and that I have two emails from them, one confirming the reservation and one cancelling the reservation. So, at 9:30 at night, while standing at in the rental car agency, I had to rebook a reservation at a significantly higher rate. Worst experience I've had in 30 years of travel. I will never use them again.”
“My experience was extremely poor...they require a non-refundable deposit if you don't cancel within a certain time frame of when you are going to rent, however only provide you restrictions tied to rental (in my case, limited to Florida and Georgia by the firm they choose - Fox Car Rental) very late in the process and, more importantly in VERY fine print that required clicking on 4 separate links to get to the document. Early in the process they make vague references to "read the car rental agency restrictions" however those are not made available until late in the process (in my case, 48 hours before pick-up). In my case, we got to the airport, Fox refused to rent to us as we were going to Delaware...Fox indicated to us that you'll get a full refund (even put it in writing), but Wisecars refused to provide a refund based on the fact that we didn't show-up (we did). I had to eat the cost and rent at Avis for $300.00 more. Wisecars refused to provide a regfund even though it was disputed on my credit card. From my perspective, Wisecars has deceptive business practices that boarder on fraud.”
“It's a complete scam. I booked a car for three weeks and paid the full amount upfront. However, after returning the car, they charged me an additional 25 euros without any justification. When I reached out to their so-called customer support, they were extremely unprofessional and even insulting. I have all the emails to prove it. Avoid renting from third-party companies or brokers; instead, rent directly from major rental companies.”
“Everything went wrong! Very long story short, in the end I was unable to rent the car. Wisecars would not refund the very large deposit. After weeks of communication they found unbelievable excuses to rob an old lady. Don’t do it!”
“I booked a car thorugh Wise Cars and paid in full. I have an invoice saying that payment was complete and the balance is zero. However, when I picked up the car at Budget I was charged again and Budget said that Wise hadn't paid them. I have called Wise cars numerous times and every time they say that they will call back in 2 days and never do. I feel frustrated and this is definitely a scam.”
“DO NOT BOOK CAR RENTALS WITH WISECARS. After a recent trip to CO, I'm still trying to understand this scammy business. I booked a rental with Wisecars and received TWO EMAILS that say this: "amount due now - 198.38. Amount due at pick-up $95.14" Total $293.52." Then (OF COURSE) at Thrifty Rental Cars at Denver Airport, we receive a rental agreement that says "Total estimated charges: $365.80." And then after our trip, we received an "updated receipt" that says: "Total amount due: $312.84" for a grand out of pocket total of $511.22. A BIG difference from "total: $293.52," right? BEWARE that there's no accounting for the first amount you'll pay (for us, $198.38), for which you receive a "voucher" that the actual rental car company (for us Thrifty) has NO idea about. We turned down extra insurance and made sure the car (unlimited miles) was gassed up before its return. It's true what they say, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. STAY AWAY!”
“Got a good deal on the rental but realized after the dates on the reservation were off by one day. Rental was showing one day later for pickup and drop off.
I spent several hours trying to reach a live person and the support ticketing system only states "we will get back to you as soon as possible". What does that mean? Within 24 hrs, 48 hrs, x number of days?”
“To whom it may concern, I'm very frustrated with your company. I booked a car to be picked up in Florence, Italy. When I picked up the car I was told I needed an international driving license. I was told that was a law in Italy. That is not a law in Italy, I was able to rent a car from a different agency with no problem. ALso it was part of a wedding party and the other members of the party picked up cars in FLR airport without an international driving license. It took me an additional 2 hours to get another car. Most of the rental car agencies were fully booked.
When I called wisecars to get a refund I was told I was not able to from Dominik that he couldn't help me. Also said the manager could not talk to me. This is a ridiculous experience, its a scam. If there was an international driving permit requirement they should've told me on the phone. It should not be buried somewhere in small print. This is a lousy company with very poor customer service.”
