“Being a Foodie I spend a lot of my time reading about food, planning new recipes, shopping for good supplies, and of course cooking. Currently I am on a paella quest and I have made several different versions. But before I could start, I needed saffron. I did my research and one of the food websites I trust the most, recommended Zaran saffron. I ordered it and it arrived quickly, well wrapped. The saffron itself is a deep red with no orange or yellow threads and a satisfactory pungent saffron scent. It is fairly easy to crumble before steeping it in warm liquid that immediately takes on the most beautiful color. Mixed with smoked paprika for the paella it produces just the flavor I was hoping for and remembering from the paellas in Spain. So far, I haven’t used it fir anything else, but I expect it will be perfect for any dish that needs saffron. Alice W, in Boston”

“I use saffron often enough that I don't buy it at Krogers. I buy it off the Internet in larger quantities. My concern with on-line sellers is knowing if the "saffron" is real. Or if it is something else that has been doctored with dye. I came to Zaran because I felt I was likely to get real saffron. My cursory check when I received the product indicated it is real saffron they sell. While I will continue to perform my checks on each new can, I've been happy with the taste and quality of what I've purchased.”
