“I've used Shutterfly for a handful of vacation book projects in the past and always had a great experience, the shipping is fast, customizations easy, it's a one stop shop. For this project, I wanted to print an image I took on metal for an art show- at first, it stated "poor resolution" or something of the sorts- so I scoured the AppStore for an app to transform the resolution to a higher quality image. There's nothing free out there I could find so had to pay 1.99 for what I thought was a one time usage and turned out to automatically charge me $40 until I had to ultimately call the company and cancel, and of course- didn't get the $40 back, but whatever. I was looking forward to this piece but when it came the image quality was awful. I know you're thinking that's on me- sure, if I was more tech savvy and owned photoshop, but since the site initially questioned my image resolution I just assumed it would continue to do so until it knew the image printed would be the best quality for the size- wrong. Sent me the most pixelated image that I paid $55 for which I had to trash. I can't enter that in a show, and I work at a gallery...super disappointed. $97 later, and I guess I can't ever get anything printed larger than a 5x7.”
