“we were really surprised how much a difference these made in the temperature in an upstairs bedroom that can never get cool enough during the summer. they truly do block much of the light, turning the room into a pitch black cave during the day and making it much more comfortable at night. the fit + finish were excellent, and they were super easy to install. thanks blindster dot com!”

“I would like to see some kind of additional material supplied to seal off all light coming in around the sides and top. My bedroom faces East so I receive intense sunlight in the morning around 6:30 am. I'm using the cardboard corners (shipping material) to try to seal out the light. some additional consideration is suggested to you.”

Unfortunately, in order to mount inside the window, the shades must be cut to a width that allows the shades to fit inside the brackets and move up and down without touching the side of the window. If the shade rubs against the side of the window it will either become frayed on the edges and/or damage the wood around the window. The only way to minimize this light seepage is to order the shades as outside mount. That way you can make them wider than the window, giving better coverage. There still will be a halo effect when the sun is at it's brightest. And the look is very different. I will contact you directly to see if you want to reorder the shade as an outside mount.

“These blinds are perfect for what we needed. My husband has a revolving schedule so must often sleep during the day. We chose the inside fit simply because he does not want a totally dark room (to disorienting when he awakes) We've never had the "top down" feature on blinds before and love the privacy it provides. The only negative that I've found is my fault really. The color is not quite right and it is difficult to match true color to a computer screen. It's not bad and I can live with it, but it would have been better to have had the luxury of time to get sample colors. (our previous blinds from another manufacturer broke and I needed replacements ASAP) So, other than aesthetics, these are great blinds.”
