“I'm 6' 2" 205 pounds And the overall fit is just fine. The padding on the seat is good. Seat adjusts so the back Of my legs are supported. The armrests are a bit hard and TheY slide unintentionally sometimes When I adjust myself in the chair. Headrest is too low except when I take a nap (all the way back and feet up on the desk). Lumbar is just adequate.”
“It's a very good chair with a few little annoyances keeping it from being a great chair. For the price versus something like the Steelcase Leap that is at my office (which due to the virus I haven't been at in 4 months and they won't let us bring home), it is truly great. For the sake of my body for the long hours I'm now working at home in front of a computer, I'm very happy with the purchase. And BTOD itself has been great, including with an issue with the order that I mention below.
I order everything standard and no headrest.
The adjust-ability is definitely a strong selling point, and it is very very good in this regard. It adjusts every way you want, and has multiple recline lock points.
The seat comfort is really great, the videos didn't exaggerate this. It is just the right amount of squish for long periods. It's a traditional deep but firm padding like quality seats in a car, not the super ergo design of Steelcase or soft like a couch/recliner.
Assembly was a little more than some chairs, less than others. There was a problem with the hardware though, one bolt was the wrong threads. Huge kuddos to BTOD customer service for quickly getting me new hardware.
A big part of my choice was the height of the chair, as my desk is tallish and I needed a chair tall enough. The standard cylinder delivers at 23", I actually don't have it all the way up, while my other more typical chair (19.5") was 2 inches too short.
My first significant issue with the chair is despite the arm rests being of a "soft" material (vs hard plastic), I really wonder in the choice. The material is still so hard I ended up with sore elbows. A set of foam arm covers I found for $20 helped a lot here.
My last issue, less serious, just annoying, is that the lumbar adjustment can't be fixed. It just floats up and down, which means I seem to always be fiddling with it.
Lastly I noticed one of the comments in the videos about the chair mentioning low "fit and finish". The only thing I can find is there are some rough, almost sharp edges on some of the cast metal pieces, like the back frame. Enough to possibly to draw blood if you rubbed over it the wrong way. I plan to take a metal file to it at some point.”
“I'm perfectly happy with this purchase. Tightening the three bolts to attach the backrest was kind of difficult for me, but I love the chair and it's very well built and super comfortable. I love it and highly recommend it. I'd definitely get the headrest too. It's nice!”
“Chair is highly adjustable. Seat and back are very comfortable. The arm are not very comfortable, but you can adjust them to work for your needs.
The chair seems to be well made with quality materials. I have only had it for a month, so we will have to see how it hold up, but the warranty makes me think i will be fine”
