“Having had the chair for about a month now, here is what I think: The chair itself is great, the new fabric feels great and the cushion feels comfortable yet firm. The plastic parts of the chair do have some minor signs of wear, but nothing serious. Most of functions worked as advertised out of the box except one.
Here are the two issued I faced. The instruction sheet that came with the chair was for the side activated cylinder, despite the fact the cylinder the chair had was top activated. Not a big problem as I watched the videos showing the two possible cylinder types. The bigger issue was that the height adjustment was almost entirely unresponsive. It took a tremendous amount of force on the lever for the chair to respond. Fortunately BTOD seems to have accounted for this and have video instructions on how to fix the problem yourself. After following these instructions the height adjustment works perfectly.
I would definitely recommend buying this chair. The only thing keeping this from being a 5/5 stars is that the issue with the height adjustment. I give credit to BTOD for having anticipated the problem and having video instructions on how to deal with it, and the transparency their videos portray overall encouraged me to buy from them, but if your spending $500 to $600 dollars on a chair, the expectation is that everything works out of the box. You may not have this problem though.”
“The Steelcase Leap chair is excellent in its own right independent of btod. Btod did fine work in refurbishing it and while I was concerned that a used chair might be marred and unsightly, the two chairs I received were like new. The new fabric is high quality and very professionally installed. The purchase and assembly support was impressive.”
