Refurbished Steelcase Leap v2 by BTOD, Black Frame Reviews

4.7 Rating 894 Reviews
I had been shopping for a good chair for over a month. For me, it came down to this Leap v2 and an Autonomous ErgoChair 2. I watched just about every youtube video I could find for both. The BTOD videos were really helpful and the one with the factory tour showing how the Leap is rebuilt was what made me go with BTOD over some of the cheaper Leap options online. I ordered both and the Leap arrived within 3 days of ordering from BTOD. The ErgoChair took over 2 weeks since the color I wanted was backordered, so I had a head start with testing the Leap. When the ErgoChair was finally delivered and assembled (45 minutes for the ErgoChair compared to 5 for the Leap) there was absolutely no comparison. The Leap is far and away the better chair. The Leap cushions are thinner but they are more conformed to natural body curves. The height adjustment has a larger range, lumbar support is superior, controls are in just the right spots and labeled clearly and the casters glide with ease. Don't get me wrong, the ErgoChair is nice and much better than the $50 chair I had been using, but there are several things that I could not get adjusted to my liking. Lumbar support can only go up and down a few inches and I could not get it in the correct position for me. Armrests are 4 way adjustable but there is no tension on them so the easily slide all over the place. No matter how much I tried, the back tension would not tighten and the chair would fall back if I leaned back even slightly. Needless to say, the Leap will be staying in my office and the ErgoChair is going back. My Leap is in excellent condition and almost impossible to tell it is a remanufactured chair. I also had a HM Aeron with a previous job and would pick the Leap over that as well. I would not hesitate to purchase from BTOD again. Thanks BTOD! Love this chair!

This whole process was incredibly easy. I feel like I just got a brand new chair at a fraction of the cost.

Purchased two of these chairs for my home office. I have some old Leap V1's in the my work office for my team and have always loved the size and adjustability of them. After a copious amount of research it came down between the Herman Miller Aeron and the Steelcase Leap V2 chair. Because my significant other likes to cross her legs when she works, and I prefer better back support I decided on the Leap V2. We are on opposite ends of the spectrum, her being rather short and petite and myself being tall and built (6'3" 235 lbs) and the chair can accommodate us both for the long working hours we put in each day. If you are questioning the quality of "remanufactured" I will put your mind at ease. Everything on this chair appears to be brand new. From the upholstery to the gears to the base and the wheels. When you take the chair out of the box, you won't be able to tell that these aren't "brand new" from the manufacturer. I would highly recommend purchasing these chairs if you sit for your job or just want something extremely comfortable.

It really supports my lower back and that was the main problem I was having. Your videos are truthful, informative and honest. I truly respect that. The only problem I have with this chair is that I have to keep it covered up when I'm not using it because my cats love the chair too.

They did a great job re-manufacturing the chair. It looks like new. I tried it out but unfortunately didn't work for me. I have back problems and just could not get the chair adjusted for me. The return process was easy and BTOD did exactly what they advertise.

The chair arrived quickly as promised. To me, it looks like a new chair. The price was superb compared to new ones. Assembly is not difficult, but the instructions should be tweaked. Mine arrived with the 'glides' already in place, but instructions indicated they would be provided as loose parts. One glide came off after a few days of use. After getting a link to a YouTube video from btod, I was able to make put the glide in the proper position. Watch the videos on the botd site to learn about the chair and how to adjust the chair to fit your needs. Once done, it is a very nice chair at a good price.
