“Packaging was good, price was ok, comfort is pretty good. It doesn't have quite as much recline as I like, if you expect to lean back kick your feet up and sleep, this is probably not your chair. There's loads of adjustments and the lock on the recline does feel very solid. I imagine this chair will last at least 5+ years with good solid use.”
“This chair overall is great; it offers a multitude of adjustability. The only downside is that the chair is not quite as soft as I am used to, but that only means you can't sit in the chair comfortably with bad posture. If you sit properly, it feels good and helps force you to sit correctly.
This is probably the best overall choice of chair for most people, and getting it refurbished is likely the best method of obtaining one for them as well. Always do your research and make sure you make the correct choice for yourself.”
“Thank you all for this refurbishing this chair. it looks and feels better than brand new and at half the price. The Steelcase Leap is the most comfortable office chair I've ever used but for years I just couldn't justify the price. My wallet thanks you and my back thanks you :)”
“Aside from a couple scuff marks, the chair feels new.
I had some issues with the cylinder that controls the seat height, but customer support helped me resolve it. I was very impressed with the customer support.”
“The refurbishment is excellent, though the chair itself, vis-Ã -vis its design, is not faultless. With extended use, I still experience mild back pain.”
“Assembly (4/5) - When you first get the chair majority of it is already put together and the only thing you have to do is attach the base to the cylinder and then place the chair on top easy. However, roughly a week into the chair I noticed the hydraulic cylinder was no longer lifting up or down.
Comfort (3/5) - Being 5'6 and 120 lbs finding a chair that can fit me and feel comfortable for long 8-10 hr sittings is tough for short and slim people. The first 5 minutes isn't to bad, but afterwards I find myself needing to constantly change sitting postures and even get up every hour with this chair. An if I forcibly sit any longer I can feel my buttocks getting rather sore.
Functions (4/5) - The seat tilt and lock isn't anything special; which is a basic tilt forward and back motion found in most chairs nowadays. As for the lumbar support it isn't bad or good either, because I find myself changing the position all the time. But what I did like about this chair is how low can I put the seat height and the fact I can adjust the seat depth as I have rather short legs.
Customer Service (3.5/5) - I mentioned early I had issues with the cylinder and contacted Customer service. At first the representative responded quick and courteously, but sent a bunch of vague videos and information. Ultimately I had to do some more homework on my own and little DIY to fix the issue. Afterwards, I sent a reply back to the CS Rep. to let them know I managed to fix the problem and thank them for their time and help. However, I didn't get a reply until like a week or so later. Had I received a quick reply and followed through with my case from start to finish I would have given much higher score.
Price (3/5) - Before I bought this chair, I did my homework on ergonomic chairs and felt this was the chair to all my problems. But, just my opinion but this chair just didn't really met most of my expectations. Not 100% comfortable and constantly needing to change/shift postures. Although I can't say it's bad chair, because it has a lot of niche functions you can't find in most chairs, but in the end it really feels not that much of huge difference compared to other office chairs for the less than half the price.”
