Refurbished Steelcase Leap v2 by BTOD, Black Frame Reviews

4.7 Rating 896 Reviews
Any slight movement causes the back of the chair to rattle against the bar that is on the backside of the chair. Maybe some screws need to be tightened, but I haven't figured out to access them. If they exist, they're under the cushion on the chair back.

Chair was good quality overall but the seat needs more cushioning, my tailbone tends to hurt after a day of use everyday.

This chair came highly recommended, so I had high hopes. I wasn't disappointed. All of the specs are on the website, so I won't list them again here, but I will explain why I didn't give it a full five stars. The seat cushion is lacking. This was clearly stated in a review, so I wasn't surprised. I supplemented with a pad that I use for sciatica and melted into the chair. However, putting the extra pad on the seat meant the arm rests were not longer arm rests. As adjustable as they are, they can't go high enough. I left them at the full height, lowered the chair so they fit under my desk, and mainly use them when I'm leaning back. My new arm rest is my desk. This may only be an issue because I put the extra pad on the seat, but the armrests slide out of place (horizontally) very easily. It's easy to get them back into place. I just wasn't expecting it.

Great value. The chair arrived really nicely packed. The setup was quick and easy. All features work as expected. The cushion is very comfortable and the chair is highly adjustable. The tilt is not as smooth as I expected, but it's not enough to remove a star from the rating. The upholstery seems to be of very high quality. I'm extremely satisfied with the purchase.

The chair has exceeded my expectations. Would never know this was a refurbished chair. The vinyl is perfect. The comfort is great. Working with the team was also great.

This is a case of it's me, not you. BTOD did absolutely everything right!! The refurb is top notch with on only two missteps. First - The chair had a smell to it. It went away after a few days. The smell came from the plastic backing of the chair and must be from what they use to clean and renew the backing. But like I said, it went away after a few days and then it had no smell at all. Second- The recline wasn't smooth. It kinda chattered as it slid through the movement. May not enough lube? Other than that, the chair looked great! I would be very hard for anyone to tell it was a refurb. Now, I really wanted to like this chair. I did way too much research and obsessing about it. I have spent years in the Herman Miller Aeron chair and always liked it, but the Leap V2 had a LOT of great reviews. That, coupled with how thorough BTOD's refurb process is, the 12 yr warranty, a 30 day money back guarantee, and half the price of new... it was a no brainer. So I ordered that chair. My brain said yes, but my body said no. The chair dug into my hips on one side or the other, and I just really missed the recline that an Aeron has. I also really like the mesh of the Aeron. So, I contacted BTOD and set up the return. The return process was very easy and April was great to work with. Just rebox the chair, apply the label and have FedEx come pick it up. Yeah, FedEx.... that is a whole other story. 1 Star for them. Bottom line - BTOD is great. I have zero reservations about recommending them to anyone. If only they had a refurbed Aeron in a size C.
