“The cake was very sweet and a little dry. The cream was quite buttery and heavy. It looked good though so the first impression was great. We were disappointed with the taste and it arrived late due to “traffic conditions”.”

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that you found your order too sweet. We use all natural ingredients and we always keep our fat and sugar content to "just as much as needed to make something delicious”. From my experience in colder climates/seasons our cakes do take a long time to get up to room temperature as they are made with 100% butter. We also chill our cakes for transport so they don't get damaged. The cold does inhibit the taste of cake but really comes to life when it is at room temperature and the buttercream texture becomes soft like whipped double cream. We are sorry your experience with us didn’t match your expectations this time. We bake our products fresh daily, use all natural ingredients and make product quality a priority. The cake should be served at room temperature at which point the sponge should become light and fluffy and not be dry. We are not sure if you had stored it in the fridge, but this might explain the dry cake layers.
