“I saw this product at an overlanding event last fall and knew right away I had to have one for our Yosemite trip coning up. We had three other lanterns sitting in a bin in the garage that never get used, and this thing put all of them to shame in one weekend.
The whole idea is genius honestly...instead of the light sitting low on the picnic table blinding everyone, it cranks up on this little tripod pole so the light comes from above and spreads out over the whole site. My brother in law actually asked if we'd brought a second light because the entire campsite was lit up, not just the little circle around the table like usual.
Setup is ridiculously easy, easier than putting up our camp chairs honestly. Pole telescopes out, tripod legs kick out, lamp clicks on top, done in under a minute even in the dark. We charged it in the truck with a battery pack on the drive up and it was already full by the time we got to the trailhead. USB-C charging is such a nice change from the old micro USB stuff that takes forever.
And it is bright. Like genuinely, wow-that's alot of light bright, not just "bright for a lantern." We cooked dinner under it, played cards till late, even spotted a tent stake we lost somewhere in the grass because the light reached that far. Dial it down low and it sips battery too...we left it running all night by the cooler on the lowest setting and it barely used any charge by morning.
It packs down small enough to toss in the truck without a second thought, and the build feels solid, not flimsy like some of the cheaper lanterns we've had that crack after one season.
We ended up leaving our other two lanterns home this trip and didn't miss them once. If you camp with a group and everyone's always fighting over the one good light, this completely solves that. Already planning on bringing it on every trip from here on out. Worth every penny.”

“So far so good!!! LightRanger 1200 is great for working, camping, playing...anything you can do at night this light is awesome.
Lightbulb is built solid. However the tripod is not too sturdy at the legs. It doe not spread enough to have middle section to have clearance off the ground.”
