If you have limited time or want a shorter birding tour, this tour takes in the birding highlights of the country. At each location we find new members of these Neotropical families – tanagers, trogons, toucans, parrots, hummingbirds, and much more!

“Cossta Rica is a beauthful country with an amazing vairety of fauna, particularly birds, On a two-and-a-half hour boat trip, for example, I s=got a good view of every species of heron or egret I have ever seen in the easstern US,, plus two more species we do not have. My wife and I found this tour well planned and very well led. It more than fulfilled any expectations we had from Eagle-Eye's website. We saw all the birds I had expecially hoped to see, including resplendent quetzals and keel-billed toucans, and quite a few I was delighted to see, such as the sun bittern. Our guides, Ernesto and Paz, know where birds are likely to be, spotting the and helping us see them. Although we were the two Americans accompanying ten Canadians, the experience with our fellow travellers was the best we have ever had.”

“What a phenomenal tour! I saw over 200 life birds. Our guides Paz and Ernesto were exceptional. I really appreciated that they are ethical birders and involved in many local conservation projects. Some amazing photo ops on the river tour, and at many other locations. Exciting to also see monkeys, sloths, frogs and butterflies. The itinerary was perfect, nice to settle into each location for 3 nights. It's fast paced, and very rewarding. The food was great too. Had the time of my life!”

“Can't say enough about how wonderful this trip was. Ernesto and Paz were such amazing guides, their knowledge was exceptional!! The tour was so well organized, we always knew what the plans were for the day. I enjoyed the pace and we were able to see so many gorgeous birds, and learn about their habitats. The accomodations and food were all top notch. Was the trip of a lifetime!!”

“This tour provides an excellent introduction to birds from a selection of the numerous habitats that occur in Costa Rica. Habitats visited included dry forest, tropical forest, and cloud forest. An afternoon foray into a mangrove-lined river was particularly rewarding. The guides, as always, were excellent and accomodations and food were adequate to excellent. A fine way to see a lot of interesting birds.”

“This was an excellent tour that covered a lot of territory in a relatively short period of time...perfect for seeing a lot of endemics and other tropical birds in 12 days. Our lead guide, Benny Jacobs-Schwartz has lived in Costa Rica for 2 years and obviously knew how to maximize our time. Second guide, James Lee, was a great help in getting us on the birds. I was able to see and/or clearly hear >90% of the species identified by the group which I credit to the guides and itinerary. Our accommodations were, for the most part, excellent as were the activities (trip to La Selva, Coffee Farm and Mangrove boat ride).”

“It was our first birds tour and it's been wonderful! The guide Alex is an amazing guy, so dedicated and extremely knowledgeable, a truely expert on birds! Our fellow tourists are all nice folks, and our enjoyed their companionship. The only disappointment is that we didn't have a good view of quetzals, based on the tour description my wife had high expectations ...”
