This was my first tour with Eagle-Eye, and first guided birding tour, but I was very impressed with all aspects of the tour, and especially the guides. Ernesto and Paz were exceptional at finding and identifying the birds, and making sure every group member had a good look at each sighting. Their passion for birds and the natural environment translated to a wonderful and meaningful experience every day. I also appreciated the focus on safety. An amazing experience all-around!

Our tour guides were extremely knowledgeable about both the birds and the areas that we visited. We saw well over 300 birds on our tour - I especially appreciated how quickly they could get the bird lined up on their spotting scopes so we could have an excellent view of them.

What can I say - the food was delicious; the accommodations were very comfortable with birding opportunities at our doorstep; Ernesto was amazing, knowing every bird by sight and sound; our bus driver, Gorje drove us safely to every spot, waiting patiently until we saw every bird; and of course, the birds we saw were incredible!! A trip to remember forever.

Even before our tour ended, I told my partner that we should probably not go on another tour because we would be disappointed. The Costa Rica. Sampler Tour we took was fabulous on all counts! The birding was fantastic, the guides, including the bus driver, were outstanding, we visited many interesting sites in Costa Rica, we learned a lot about the country and the tour participants were a pleasure to travel and interact with. What an experience! And, I am happy to say that we have taken some more Eagle Eye Tours and they were memorable as well.

Countless colourful birds, from honeycreepers to macaws to manakins to more than 30 types of hummingbird delighted us daily. Scenery ranged from volcano to highlands to mangrove swamp to forest. We learned about coffee growing, saw monkeys, coati, reptiles, and tasted pineapple and bananas as never before or since. A great tour!

This trip is a great way to go birding in Costa Rica. The itinerary covers a wide variety of habitats. The guide knows where to find the birds. Good viewing and photo opportunities. Excellent accommodations. Roomy vehicle with big windows. If you want to sample birding in Costa Rica this is a good tour.

Our leaders Ernesto and Steve were top notch. Ernesto is the best bird guide we have ever been with. Accommodation was completely satisfactory; not extravagant but close to where the birds are. The group dynamics were excellent as most of the participants were very like minded and had reasonable expectations. Not a negative but, the tour is very fast paced as you are up early for birding with only a small break in the afternoon, so be prepared to be on the move. The only real negative of the trip was returning to the Hotel Bouganvillea which is located in San Jose on weekend evening and the traffic congestion was insane. In the end what really matters is the number of birds we saw, and on this trip our life list was 2x what I have seen at other places.
