The list of owls present during most winters is very impressive; Great Gray, Great Horned, Snowy and Northern Hawk-owl, with always a possibility of Eastern Screech-owl, Short-eared Owl and Northern Saw-whet Owl. “Organization was good and the guides were knowledgeable and very helpful. Accommodations were fine and comfortable. it did seem however that the clients themselves formed a two tier system with one bus as the 'specials' and the rest of us on the other. Taking guidance from the guides did not relieve one from having people ( the special bus) pushing their viewpoint as how one should behave even though the guides were giving agreement to what you were doing. This is, of course is beyond the control of the Tour but I thought I would tell you anyway.”

Hi Eugene, sorry to hear that you did not see as many Great Grey Owls as hoped. We did communicate to your group prior to tour confirmation that there were less than an average amount of Great Greys sighted in the lead up to the tour. We will continue to set expectations prior to the trip. That being said, we're super happy to hear that your group saw 2 Great Greys, as well as 1 Eastern Screech-Owl, 3 Horned Owls & 23 Snowy Owls!

“Found most of the birds that I hoped to see.. The days were a bit too long and no time to unwind and have a beverage before supper with our new friends. Please have a few more restroom breaks. The guides were excellent at locating hard-to-find boreal birds. Most people could never do this on their own unless they are an experienced local.”
