The device is robust and easy to install. Initially I thought it would be cumbersome but it actually makes the process easier by providing a handle at the end of the stethoscope. The device is well-made and the control button to switch it on and off is durable. It has excellent fidelity and is easily used with the iPhone app. Sometimes, it can take a little more time to use the app in the midst of a busy clinical encounter. On those occasions where you really need to capture auscultation findings, it is well worth the effort. It plays back directly into the stethoscope which allows one to do one on one bedside teaching.

I have used digital stethoscopes for nearly a decade. Eko markedly increases my ability to hear abnormal breath sounds or heart sounds even in an environment with a lot of background noise such as in a busy emergency department. Eko’s simple design makes it easy to clean and maintain the device. Kudos to the design team for advancing our ability to hear our patient’s cardiorespiratory disease. - Graham Nichol, MD, MPH, FRCP Professor of Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine Director, UW Medical Center/Harborview Medical Center for Pre-hospital Emergency Care Medical Director, University of Washington Clinical Trial Center

We have been looking for more than 2 years for a telemedicine solution for cardiology and pulmonology. EKO is that solution. It is inexpensive, easy to use, secure and of the best quality of any device we have encountered. It is light, compact, works with my current stethoscope and the Bluetooth pairing with my phone is easy and fast. Nicholas B. I've been using this scope for a few months now. They recently upgraded the microphone and the recording is great! It's a great way to teach students and residents by easily playing sounds back. For doctors working in the community, I've also found it a valuable way to connect with patients and family by playing their heart sounds for them. If there's pathology, they really seem to appreciate hearing their murmur. There is no other stethoscope like this. I can easily shut off the digital and now I still have my same stethoscope! Genius!!!

I find it extremely useful in my clinical teaching work. It's one thing to tell a trainee what they're supposed to hear and then have them put their stethoscope on the patient and look for it, it's another to be able to know that they're hearing exactly what you heard through the stethoscope. I think that when I can demonstrate what they're supposed to hear directly it also improves their technique in finding it. I also use it for consultation (e.g. recording heart sounds and then playing them to a cardiologist,) and for bragging to colleagues (check out this awesome aegophony I found!).
