“I like this stethoscope a lot, but not in love with it yet. It may be the learning curve when using on animals is a bit steeper than humans! Especially when an emergency arises. Obviously you cannot always get the patient information typed in if the patient is in crisis - you need to use the tool and be done with it. I had an emergency today: senior dog collapsed during a blood draw. Heart rate was 72bpm (55 with Eko). I don’t know how much I trusted the Eko, however. It took a while to actually register the bpm and the interference with the fur was maddening. I will continue to use it on “well” patients in the hopes of improving my diagnostic skills...but this was very frustrating today.”

“I’m approaching this from a veterinary point of view. I find this stethoscope in general a very nice tool (is a little bit LONG, but I suppose is understandable!) It is a bit inconvenient in an emergency situation, however. You cannot always get the patient information typed in if it (patient) is crashing, and frequently the bpm doesn’t register. I have a particular case that I would be happy to discuss.”

“This is the best stethoscope I have ever used! I am a nurse and I have really bad hearing from listening to music and so it makes hard to hear with other stethoscopes and with this one I can amplify the sound and hear so much better! I would defiantly recommend it for anyone who has hearing problems and to any nurse who wants to hear the heart and lung sounds really well!”

“I love that the Eko works as both a powered stethoscope and as an analog. I like the flexibility of being able to use either mode as I deem it appropriate. As for the powered mode, it allowed me to clearly hear a murmur that I couldn’t hear without amplification. It makes me a better physician.”
